Started very fast right from the Normandy Hotel then steadied a bit and ended up with about 10-12 working hard all the way, except the run in from BOW when John A did his motorbike pacing thing on the front Worth getting a bit damp for. John's solo effort up Georgetown was something to behold and some of the young guys (even in restricted gears) were hanging in well on the Westferry. Have to laugh as behind John Archibald on road in to Bishopton and literally could not pass him at front. Thereafter we got held up by tractors at Bishy lights. 4 of us at backhesitated at lights as changed to red then decided to break law and tried to Catch bunch. The 4 were myself 2 young guns and a fella in black who tried to tow us back up the Bishy hill. Unfortunately we popped and the honourable man manfully got back on himself. One young gun remained ahead of me all the way to Georgetown road where I finally took him 300 metres from end. The other sensibly did not follow us. So from Bishy to Georgetown on my Jack Jones. Lesson is stay near front at Bishy get over hill and all will be well I did actually enjoy it even when Paul Leavy was slagging me off as I went past BOW.
