    Farewell

Davie Life tends to put so many hurdles in front of us. Stay positive and enjoy every moment. My photos only seem to go back to 2012. Can’t remember when we did our trip to Girona but have great memories of that and will try to find photos of that trip and Roubaix. Meantime here is a photo from our trip to Majorca take care charlie
  2. Colin thanks for posting this route. Think I will steal it for my next outing. Unfortunately it was too icy today for non main road routes

  6. Dear Rider JWCC held a virtual committee meeting last Monday You will not be surprised to know that COVID 19 was the major headline and will dominate decision making for sometime. We recognised that we needed to create a Covid-19 post on the committee and I am pleased to report that last month Eric Lymburn agreed to be co-opted on to the Committee as our Covid-19 representative. He has attended virtual Scottish Cycling meetings on Covid-19, pored over government guidance and was able to provide us with a detailed report last night. Having considered and discussed Covid related matters the Committee are unanimously of the view that for the foreseeable future there can be NO JWCC sanctioned events but we will continue to monitor government and Scottish Cycling guidance. There will be NO sanctioned club runs until further notice. Before these can start we require volunteers to be “ride captains”. These will be responsible for preparing a “Covid register” containing contact details of participants and is responsible for ensuring that all riders comply with the guidelines. If any member wishes to be a ride captain then please contact me and I will facilitate a “ bunch run start up meeting” with Eric as he will oversee all club runs during Covid. The Jets will be meeting in groups under different rules for U17s. These are challenging times but hopefully we will have JWCC club runs soon but meantime please continue to enjoy riding your bike and STAY SAFE. Alan McLean Club Secretary This email has been delivered to you via the British Cyclin

  15. Well done guys good initiative. Just a pity I aint on zwift
  16. This was a terrible ride today and I feel I owe it to you all to share my view: 1. Too much focus nuero muscular, VO2 max, and threshold. Too many sweet spots and not enough zone 2. Just maximum rubbish with minimum gain. I was knackered by inverkip 2. Riding in a slow cadence is almost universally accepted now as silly. You want to grow your quads - sprint flat out for 10s. Churning for 3 hours is like going to the gym and squatting the bar for 3 hours . Really!!!. Slow cadence and wheel sucking is my mantra but could the fit dudes please stop increasing the pace. I not getting enough time to get out my banana. 3. This ride was not just time inefficient (we spent half our time free wheeling when we could have been on the sofa practising our duolingo Spanish) but more, now my legs are semi shredded for tomorrow. Think we could have done with a bit more free wheeling. 4. Not even the social benefit of riding in a group. Either semi puffing or waiting for Billy in his big ring. Billy was smart and stuck to turbo on this horrid day. But you right. Only chat I got was from Andy when we got pumped off bunch in to Largs We all have different goals I know. But this ride is ill conceived I appreciate some guys like it. I wondered why Lynsey Curran refused to turn out - I’d told her we were touring round the lanes - now I know. It was a testosterone fix. C’mon guys. We can do better than this. Lynsey Curran Was smart enough to look at forecast to conclude that this was madness My suggestion is to stick to a long zone 2 ride. Throw in a few 10s sprints and if you like, 30mins at sweet spot. if only !!!! I appreciate this will involve reprogramming our very own Duracell toy, Charlie. Never mind reprogramming I need a total reservice I guess the forum is not for this type of comment. Won’t take offence if the moderators take it down. Honest And for those looking to hire a car from Alicante airport try Rentalcars.co. Naw Billy giving me a lift.
