Cool. Thinking stay away from coast.

Maybe over braes to Neilston, Uplawmoor, Dunlop, stewarton, Barrmill, Kilbirnie, Largs (I know it's on the coast, but just briefly) then over Brisbane Glen & the Whinn.

    Or something entirely different....

A hard night & not the time I'd hoped for but good fun.

Pity I forgot my bike was still leaning against my car as I drove off. Heard a loud bang as it fell but only a wee scrape to the bars & brake lever. What a diddy.

I am clearing out a shed at the moment and it is full of ods and sods. I have 10 stand seats from the old st Mirren ground. I will not use them, they are free to any one that wants them, complete with brackets and chewing gum.

If no one wants them its the skip, save a piece of history and fill your garage with them for the next ten years.

THE START WAS FROM CORSTORPHINE OLD PARISH CHURCH AT 21:00

THE ROUTE WAS CORSTORPHINE 21:00 FRIDAY 8TH , GRANGEMOUTH, BRIDGE OF ALLAN, BRACO, COMRIE AT 59 MILE AT 01:00 SATURDAY 9TH  THIS WAS A FEED POINT WITH FORFAR BRIDE & BEANS, PERTH – 83 MILES, BRECHIN – 123 MILES , EDZELL 128 – MILES AND BREAKFASTED 07:00, BLAIRGOWRIE 160 MILES, GLENEAGLES 191 MILES, DUNBLANE 206 MILES THEN ALONG THE NORTH SIDE OF THE FORTH THROUGH THE FAMOUS TOWN OF CROMBIE OVER FORTH ROAD BRIDGE AND BACK TO CORSTORPHINE 252 MILES BUY 19:45.
NOT A BAD RUN AFTER A DAYS WORK ON THE FRIDAY.
THERE WAS ONE REAL DOWNER ON THE RIDE FOR ME AS AT EDZELL I WAS NOT GOING THAT WELL AND HAVING TROUBLE EATING IT WAS DEHYDRATION AND TOOK ME A FEW HOURS TO GET MY SELF RIGHT. BUT THIS APART I LEFT MY BAG IN EDZELL AT THE HOTEL WE HAD BREAKFAST IN, SO ROBERT HOW WAS FAST CYCLING KINDLY WENT BACK FOR IT AS I TRIED TO SORT MY SELF OUT WITH SOME FOOD AND WATER THIS HELD US UP BY AROUND 2 HOURS WE THINK. WE WERE AMING TO FINISH BETWEEN 17:00 & 19:00 SO 45 MINUTES OUT OF TIME WAS NOT TOO BAD. MANY THANKS MUST GO TO ROBERT. IT HAD RAINED ON AND OF OVER NIGHT BUT ON THE SATURDAY THE SUN DID COME OUT FOR US. BUT WE DID HAVE A HAL STONE SHOWER AS WE PASSED GLENEAGLES. IT WAS A REST DAY ON THE SUNDAY BUT BACK ON THE BIKE TODAY.

    Daryl,
Al spoke to me about this.
If it's still a day ride why not ride from the pub in Troutbeck; starts with a dual carriageway drag, through Keswick, has kirkstone as the last big one and a drag over 'whatever it's called edge'. Saves driving all the way into coniston thereby saving you 1/2. Hr or more driving each way at least. Maybe more?
I'm probably coming along with Al if the Tories of Englandshire haven't executed all the public service workers by then and sold off their teeth and hair. I hear they are opening a smelting plant in Renfrewshire for the fillings. Oh, and a rendering plant for Glasgow City...

Week 2: Physically felt much more comfortable this week - i was in the lead group to the finish,  but despite that my overall placing will be worse than last week. Was feeling good, moving up on the last lap but was forced on to the grass with about half a lap to go and lost ground which i couldnt make up in time for the sprint and too many people to get past to get in the points.

I've raced alot in the last 2 or 3 years - mostly track league but also a fair number of crits now and some road races - and tonight was the worst riding ive  experienced over that time. Throughout  there were lots of bumps and guys not holding their line, diving up the inside of the corners then drifting all over the place. Was just sheer luck that there were no crashes.

Of course moaning about crappy riding probably just sounds like an excuse for not doing better in the sprint

Weather is total bobbins. Got soaked on ride to work, got soaked while at work this morning, will get soaked, no doubt, riding home this evening. Fed up with getting soaked and don't fancy 2 hours of it. Dummy spat and lip well and truly petted. No longer coming out to play this evening - couldn't face 2 - 3 hours...........eh getting soaked.

As 'acting up' anyway I will officially postpone, cancel or declare the ride off.

Enjoy a safe turbo or evening of rest. Graham send his best wishes from Lands End where he is enjoying a day off the bike and staying in a B&B instead of wondering where his tent will be when he wakes up.

    Guys/Girls,

I thought I had posted up details of an initial run. Evidently whatever I typed I didn't post, DUH!!!

Let's aim for an initial ride out on Wednesday of next week (6th May). Leaving Miller Street at say 6.45pm.

Easy roll down the track to Lochwinnoch and perhaps Kilbirnie. I'll be at the club rooms early to assist with any set up issues/questions if necessary and do a quick bike check. Just bring yourself, your bike, a helmet, an open mind and a sense of humour. Leave your egos, fears and misconceptions at home these will not be necessary.

    Cheers

You should pop down & try a TT sometime. It's just like riding in a bunch but without wheels to suck.
