We've talked about this on and off for a while but never quite managed to arrange it. So, I'm inviting expressions of interest for: A trip down to Cumbria possibly involving a stay at Coniston YH (which is lovely) To ride all or part of the Fred Whitton route (112 miles full route) May or June date, OR September (cos I can't make it in July and August) Cheers McGunson Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Let's say June then, although I would be prepared to do it in May, if we could identify a date. That leaves June 6th, 13th, 20th (I'm away to France on last weekend) Can people post their availability? George, I was thinking: drive down on Saturday morning and stay the Saturday night. But I am flexible. I think that would be a nice low-cost trip. Some could have the option of heading straight back on Saturday night. What do you think? mazadada Posted May 3, 2015 Report Share Posted May 3, 2015 I'm keen. First 2 weekends are ideal for me as the second 2 will be busy. 6th or 13th ideal. Good idea to drive down in the morning as plenty of time to carb load for the ride. Then plenty of time for socialising afterwards. Quite happy to drive down early as its only a 2.5 hour drive I can 3 bikes and 3 bodies in my car. More if rack sorted out. Can I ask you all to have a look at the route and possibly print it out. I've done it a few times but there are a few twists and turns that can catch you out if not paying attention (ask Chung!).
