On the replacement front first week in July for dispatch is the expectation.

I still have a load of kit to hand out. Can people make arrangements with me to pick it up.

I have now successfully completed the 3rd day of my BC level 2 coaching qualification and subject to my paperwork being given the appropriate rubberstamp I will hopefully have a level 2 coach endorsement on my licence.

In the meantime I am happy to continue providing coaching to the senior members of the club free of charge. The club have paid for me to go throught this process with the sole intention of providing coaching to the senior members, so this is for your benefit and not necessarily mine. My reward is seeing you guys and girls improving your skills and knowledge, being better cycists and enjoying your bike more.

So to that end coaching is available to everyone in the senior club, be you a rank newbie still trying to get to grips with the the whole thing or an old hand who has been doing this for years, but may have picked up bad habits, never be taught how to in the first place or just want to brush up on some aspect of your skills - bear in mind even the top pros in their respective sporting fields get coached.

If you are interested in receiving some coaching get in touch VIA THE PM SYSTEM. Give some idea of what aspect(s) of cycling you'd like coached in and what days/times during the week would suit best, if there is sufficient interest I will prepare sessions based on the responses recieved. Remember this is skills coaching and not fitness or performance coaching, speak to Billy Mac regards that.

In order for these sessions to work best I'd be looking for between 6 and 12 riders. I can not coach a group less than 3. This is also a notable time commitment by me in terms of preparation and 2-3 hours out of my evening or weekend to deliver the sessions. I'm prepared to give this additional time to you, the club members, but only if there is a reciprocal commitment to turn up. You also need to be a full paid club member.

    Cheers

Think we should restrict access to members as do not see why joe public should have free access to such entertaining posts. Freedom of expression and diversity of opinion should not be confused with offensive remarks.

Re comment about upside down logos this was and is a serious issue as it shows us and one of our sponsors in a unfavourable light
I am happy that this has been resolved , my wording on the post to Mark and his to me were not offensive or taken as such .Sometimes trying to express your concern in a short statement is difficult however this was resolved and we are still the best of enemies

    Guys/Girls,

Nothing more to report regards the skinsuit situation. Clearly I, like those affected - and I include our very patient sponsor in this, want a swift resolution to the erroneous logos. It is just one of those things out with anyone associated with the club's control, and one that only came to light in the wearing of the skinsuits. It appears the problem stems from an oversight in compiling the design proof and is a genuine honest mistake, which when looking at the way the design proof is formatted entirely understandable and one lost even to the trained eye.

As I have already stated, this will be corrected as quickly as is humanly possible. In the meantime could I ask that the defective skinsuits be returned to me in the next week or so. I'd like to add that the remainder of the kit is unaffected by this and you all should continue wearing the new kit with a sense of pride as a member of JWCC.

    Cheers

Your meek and humble servant begs to ask - Will you let it go?

An error was made somewhere along the line, it has now been spotted and steps taken to sort it. No one died!!!!!!!!!! Matters are in hand. I realise this is important and it is being dealt with in a prompt manner. I can do no more at this point in time.

It WILL take whatever time it takes to physically put matters right. No amount of you getting your bibs in a twist will change that. The machinists will take whatever time they need to produce the garments, the man in the van will need time to deliver them to the docks/airport for shipping and shipping times will be at the behest of the shipping companies. Oh!, and it may take me a little more than a nanosecond to arrange dishing out the skin suits to those affected. So, as I said chill.

Replacing the suits is ALL Pactimo, contractually speaking, are required to do; not the least they are required to do. Given their level of customer service to date I'd anticipate a speedy resolution to this matter. It's inconvenient - absolutely yes!, but just sometimes things don't go 100% as planned. If you're still unhappy with progress thus far in resolving this issue and want to go to pick a fight with Pactimo over this then be my guest, I'll happily give you Raffy's email address and mobile number, but do it with the blessing of the club, and not in my name. I reckon Pactimo will tell you exactly the same as I have and all you'll achieve is getting peoples' backs up, which does no one any good in the long term.

If you don't fancy an argument with Pactimo or Raffy, then allow me the time to sort matters. I very occasionally pull a rabbit out of a hat and exceed even my expectations but miracles don't appear on my CV as yet. Having new skinsuits by the weekend unfortunately falls into the miracle category and, despite rumours to the contrary, legendary deity status still alludes me - both on and off the bike.

    Skin Suit wearers,

I have had the first tentative response from Pactimo on the logo issue. Raffy's email is as copied below. More on this as I get it

........I’ll start a replacement order for all the supplied skinsuits. The artwork is wrong, the text should have been upside down in that location, the template states as well how the logo should be read. As soon as I have the modified artwork I will show it to you.

Keep you posted and thanks for your patience.

    Thanks

I have now checked the design proof for all the kit again. The proof shows the logos on the arms of all the kit to be consistently orientated. I have compared this to my s/s and l/s jerseys and this would confirm the skin suit in the picture to be at odds with the proof. The logs are upside down on this particular skin suit.

Before reverting to Pactimo, could I ask that those who have a skinsuit please check and pm if the logos are wrong on their skinsuit. It might be the case that the arms have been switched around during production. I will reiterate, this is not a design mistake. Could someone also send me a copy of the photo - pm me if you need a note of my email address.

The proposed mass club meet up at Strachur has been done previously and worked well. The ride back to the ferry is a good one and mostly flat. As Jane suggests it allows riders the chance to ride back with a different group. Us alledgedly anti social types in the main bunch have no problem with anyone wanting to hang on to our wheels on the the run to the ferry. The good thing is should you get dropped another group will sweep you up.

Barring mechanicals I'd imaging the main bunch will be arriving in Strachur around 1.00pm. At least I hope it will be as I'll be starving by then!!!!!

I hope there are some folk who would enjoy a social, slow pace ride from McInroy's Point Gourock Red Western ferry to Dunoon and then Strachur cafe for lunch and hopefully meeting up there with the Intermediate and Main bunches followed by a slow ride back to the ferry on the most direct and flattest route. We estimate this as about 36 miles from ferry to ferry. I am allowing 2 hours each way. If anyone wants to up their game they can come home with a different bunch and I would welcome all who want to join us back to the ferry after lunch.

10.40 ferry crossing out, return passenger ticket £5 from newsagents on Shore Street called Pauls Food and Wine, more expensive on the ferry!

    94 Shore St, Gourock PA19 1RB

Meet at 10.30am with bike and tickets at McInroy's Point, I shall drive down and leave the car nearby, not a lot of parking at the ferry.

Great opportunity to experience a Club outing at an easy pace and for those who haven't been out much this season.
Please post if you are coming along.

We met at Thomsons, up the braes and over to Lugton. From there Dunlop, Stewarton and Fenwick. A77 up to Philmuir Rd. Paul and the other headed for Barrhead and Paisley while dropped down to Eastwood toll. Fairly sharp pace all evening. Great fun.

Great wee ride. Good circuit offering a variety of terrain. The climb at the start woke the legs up and the rolling roads to Fenwick keep you on your toes before flats and descent of the 77.

Thoroughly enjoyed it tonight. Legs suitably tired now.

Was an enjoyable event. Pleased with my time and also my sprint placing, have much to improve on with the king of the mountain section though. Highlight was towards the end - there is a tough little climb at Logierait that catches riders unaware because most are in the big ring then take a corner directly onto a steep slope which is hidden from view. Anyway because i knew it was coming i'd changed down in advance and overtook a guy on a Boardman bike who was also wearing Boardman top...it was only after i noticed these things that i realised it was Chris Boardman himself.

More than satisfied with doing a single Arran given the weather and the numbers. A 3 up from Machrie was a tough shift. No shaming of my jersey, it was there and it finished within the required time. Epic shame for posting such nonsense about your club mates Hologram boy.

Paul, I'm up for the Arran and a half as an when. It'll be............EPIC!!!!!!!!

There appears to be a good deal of demand for kit still after the initial order. That being the case I will arrange to have the store opened up again. If I suggest a 2 week window (consensus was that the inital week was too short) say from this weekend 26/4 or week commencing 28/4 would that suit everyone?

Working on a 5 week turnaround from the date the store closes then delivery would be early to mid June. I'm flexible on this point and will act on the majority view. constructive comments please and I will advise when the web page is accessible.

    Thanks

There is indeed some ladies kit available which was bought by Thomson's to ensure the minimum initial order numbers were reached. I'll hunt out the price list for you and pm the prices to you.
