All rides will leave from clubrooms on Miller Street

As per previous years there will be two or three bunches with the slower bunch leaving at 9:00am, the second bunch leaving at 9:30am and the wannabe racers leaving at 10:00am. This run is 70 miles long. Please select an appropriate bunch for your ability.

Tea, coffee, soup and sandwiches will be served in the clubrooms at the end of the ride. All donations of soup, sandwiches, etc... gratefully accepted

A consensus emerged today amongst the riders who are riding the Flanders sportive that we will treat this reliability as a 'dress rehearsal' for the event. That means:

1. Slightly modified route - all the way to Ardrossan and then up towards Barmill/Uplawnmoor. Then we have a selection of Flanders-type hills (shortish and steep), finished off (in both senses) by a few ascents of the hill climb course.

2. It also means that the 'fast group' will probably leave at 8.30.

3. If the weather is reasonable, perhaps use the bike you intend to ride for the 10 hours at Flanders, just to see if that racing position really is all that comfortable, or whether the racing saddle is suitable etc

Cheers

Darryl

Guys and girls. Just to let you know, I was down at barrmill on Saturday and the main road is closed till the end of march for re- surfacing. You may have to change the route alittle to avoid the main street not sure how passable it will be if at all.

Cheers lindsay
