Despite depleted numbers compared to our previous APRs, we managed to get 3 groups organised. It was a perfect day for it. We were joined by new prospective members - Stephen and Chloe, as well as blast from the past - Mark Whitehead. Also, Eddie from Largs joined in with the second group. Scratch (Robbie, Murray, Richie) caught the 2nd group with 1 lap to go. Rob won the sprint. Most of the group returned to the clubrooms for refreshments.

A date for diaries. Back by popular demand, the second of our spring APR training rides will be on Sunday 4th June. We will use the Greenacres circuit. First group will be off at 10.30. We will meet at the clubrooms at 9.30 and have a gentle cycle over. There will be generous time gaps for the early group (s). After the event folk are invited back to the clubrooms for food, and cycling on the big screen. We also intend to award prizes for last years’ events (see forthcoming separate message from Gerard). Hope we can get a good turnout!

For all riders, this is to alert you to the fact that the descent into Howood off the Bowfield is currently very dangerous. Towards the bottom, just before the sharp left bend which takes you through the houses, the road is covered in water and slime. There has already been one serious accident The council has been informed. Take great care here.

And all the groups are back home safe and sound. Another great JWCC production. Smiles all round and delicious soup from Paul McDonald. Great to see faces old and new. A special mention to multiple Scottish champ, Brit champ, European and World masters champ Kat Hair for joining us. Well done everyone! Video 👇 courtesy of Geo McNee -

Hi folks I’ve decided to postpone the Saturday APR. It does not seem as though we will have the numbers to make it viable as quite a few who have supported the event are on holiday or otherwise unavailable. Will try for next week instead. Thanks -
The next APR will be next Saturday (2nd July). The Barmill Circuit has been resurfaced so we will revert back to it. 9.30 At Clubrooms for a leisurely group ride over. Lunch and or beer afterwards. Hope some of you can join us. Spread the word! Cheers

Another good morning. 3 groups working well together. Good to see everyone, especially a few who have been off the bike for a bit. Well done all, but especially Seán and Robbie who fought out the finish, having dropped the remnants of the scratch group.
