Well done guys... it would be great if the 2 up was more transparent, is there any info on how calculations are made?

I have a skinsuit, just not a club one. I will just have a quadruple espresso in the morning and a bowl of sugar to fuel the effort.

I will be there, I have the day off work. You do not need a TT bike just somewhere to hide the pain as you ride along.

    Hi All,

Its my unashamedly periodic call to arms for more volunteers to help put this race on, on behalf of the Johnstone Wheelers :-) Sorry & I won't stop until I get it :-)

Well, so far I'm sure I have all the 6 race convey drivers & cars to cover the minimum requirement, I have 1 sign-on/HQ & about 6 committed marshals.

What I'm still short on is a FIRST AIDER, & at least another 7 MARSHALS.

Please, if you can lend a hand - I along with the club would be most grateful for you help, as I stated before - you'll only be required from 8am -1pm. You get to watch some real live racing on open roads with a race convoy & moto riders just like the Grand Tours :-) we might even have some crazy fans too ........ oh, free cakes & sandwiches after the race at HQ too!

Just to let everyone know, the role of the marshals is not as daunting as it sounds, for starters - you'll NOT be require to control any traffic at all (we don't have the power to do so anyway) It'll be just a case of donning a High-Viz bib & a radio in hand looking rather authoritive, notifying folks of what's going on & stuff :-) And you'll be brief by the Race Commisaires on the day as to what to do & expect anyway.

So, anyone can do it, there is no special skill involve ............................... so pleeeeeeeese don't be shy & sign up before it's too late

    Many thanks

    Yours thankfully

    Chung

I'm making a skinsuit out of cling film. Hopefully I'll have it finished in time. Anyone got a TT bike with stabilisers I can borrow?

Yip I'm up for this, good cause for charity and to support Geoff.
I'm hoping Ian Archibald is going to lend me some clip on tri bars so I can pretend to be a bit aero

Just to add a wee note. Today was completely amazing with a totally disciplined pace line meant that we maintained a steady speed over lap one. Alan was and is a total legend the way he took spells but to be honest you have to say exactly the same for Paul and Jan. There were a few dark moments the first being turning into the wind at Lochranza. I was paced up and to my surprise we KoM'd Pirnmill to Brodick despite the pace up the climb and the headwind into Brodick.

Second lap and with the energy in Paul and Alan and the arrival of Robbie you could tell the DA was on. The climb out of whiting bay saw my second moment of darkness. The combination of wind, sharp hills and nasty transitions put me in the red and I knew I was done. Imagine my surprise when reaching Lochranza it was still 50 minutes and 15 miles to the boat. I gave it absolutely everything I had left and even seeing the boat pull out as I arrived felt more like a victory than a failure!

Thank you Paul, Jan, Robbie and Alan for an unforgettable day!

    Andy

If buts and maybes 😕... two laps will be achieved and if we get held up on the 2nd lap and don't make it, well that's just the way the cookie crumbles.. I'm sure paul already has another date pencilled in incase the unthinkable happens. If you believe it it will happen lol the only option is two completed laps. We can think about the excuses after we fail...not before 😉

Forgot to mention this but as me, paul and David cycled through a particularly wet section of our route I became aware of a car tailing us and someone hanging out the window, I was waiting on some abuse or worse only to turn and discover our very own Porto saying hello, very Surreal but great to see him, hopefully next time he can join us on the bike 😉
