There's silverware at stake this time for the David Raymond Trophy, in the clubs 2-up championships.  As usual first-timers and returners welcome!

If you don't have a partner to ride with don't worry, you may find one on the night, or you can ride solo (Though solo rides will not count for the trophy!).

First rider off at 09:30, meet at 09:15 at the usual place towards the Inchinnan end of Georgetown Road.

Here's the link to the course: JWCC Georgetown Road TT Route for anyone who may not have done this route before.

Two volunteers to officiate please.

Depending on whose there, they may have a fairly gentle club ride (recovery ride?) afterwards, the route will depend on who is there, weather, etc.

Thanks for the reminder Alan, there were just 4 of us at the start, so we agreed to time ourselves and ride as 2 pairs, the times were:

Gerard & Alan McM.    17:48

Dave C. & Graham F.  19:40

In the excitement of the event nobody remembered about the entry fee, so £3 outstanding from each of us, but we did remember to go and find a cafe to help us recover! (Berny's)

First off, this is a handicapped race. The handicap pace is the average pace of both riders, based on their best Westferry times at the start of the season. If a pair have a faster differential pace than their competitors, they win the race. e.g. Pair one have an average pace of 2.5 minutes per mile, pair two have an average pace of 3 minutes per mile. Pair one could finish in 17.5 minutes (7 x 2.5) and be 'on pace', while pair two could finish in 19 minutes (7 x 2.7)and be faster than pace, and will win the race.

If you think that explanation is complicated, you should see the spreadsheet I use to work it out.....
