2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted April 8, 2017 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 8, 2017 Also, been thinking a bit more about the maths. There is 5h40m to do the double. So even after a 4 min break you could do it with 2 laps of 2h48m. So given we did a 2h41m today then we should probably ease back a bit on first lap. Conclusion, I am sure there will be a few more DA vets this year. It's easy on paper of course ...... Gummers
2023 Subscriptions Gummers Posted April 8, 2017 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 8, 2017 There is precedent in law regarding the Andy issue. The Supreme Court ruled a number of years ago that if the ticket dude would allow you on to the ferry then it counts. So well done Andy. Thanks Paul, Alex and Jan chung
2023 Subscriptions XXX Posted April 8, 2017 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 8, 2017 Think it's just given to anybody these days, you don't even have to get on the Ferry , why bother next you won't have to go all the way round George
Mark O
Andy ignore MacBagel he's rambling inanely again. I met him and the Bison on the track this morning and I'm sure he noticed how incredibly lean and fit I'm looking these days, and felt he so bad about life that he suffered a fatal humour bypass later in the day, resulting in chronic grumpyits. Apparently retirement has latent side effects. Added to which his beloved St Mirren will be playing third tier fitba next season. The severe condition causes irrational random verbiage. Sufferers are more to be pitied than scolded, as a former Govan riveter once said. The ticket guy has the same status as the man from Del Monte. He says YES!!! Personally, I think a beer at the Douglas is better than one on the ferry. Well done to all who broke their SA duck today. Good going lads. Chapeau to you all. Alan Michael
What is the plan for a week on Sat? I have a stag doo (luckily on arran) and just realised that the old firm is this day. If times fit, I could come do single arran (if able I'll do longer turns on the front) then catch football and my m8s for the stag doo. Ko is 12 o'clock. 2023 Subscriptions Gummers Posted April 20, 2017 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 20, 2017 Don't have the miles in my legs for a DA and have Crit on the Tuesday evening. Will come over for 2nd lap if that's helpful? Andy robster82
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted April 21, 2017 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 21, 2017 I sense this is shaping up to be a real possibility if weather ok. With Alan prepared to domestique deluxe on lap 1 and Andy on lap 2 this could be a goer. I am up for ending myself for the cause whenever it is required inbetween. 2023 Subscriptions thejanullrichdietplan Posted April 25, 2017 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 25, 2017 Unfortunately i'm going to have to pull out for this saturday after getting a start in the May Day Gallop - i dont think there is enough time to recover in time. Sorry to let the DA team down!
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted April 25, 2017 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 25, 2017 That's a shame Jan and others who cannot make it, we'll miss youse. Meantime, it's close to final commit time. Weather at this stage looking near perfect. Light SE wind as opposed to SW wind but that has its plus points too. I think we need to final commit Wednesday night, for the simple reason I don't think I would go full gas on Thursday knowing what is required on Saturday An even better excuse than 'team mate in the break' is the 'DA on Saturday'. All the top pro's use it. Deciphering the thread I think we have, - Alan to do 99% of first lap with me, Alex, Robbie and Colin in his wake before he heads off in glory and rapturous applause to watch Celtic beat Rangers again, - then Andy to join us for 2nd lap with Colin in the mibeez aye mibeez naw camp,

2023 Subscriptions Gummers Posted April 26, 2017 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 26, 2017 I'm up for lap 2. May join 7am and bimble for a bit thus if you make it to Lap 2 a bit early there's no waiting time delays plus no ill effects of zero to Arran uphill pace
2023 Subscriptions robster82 Posted April 26, 2017 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 26, 2017 Paul, I've got my concerns about recovering in time for The Fred. I saw how deep you and the big man had to go to achieve the double and can only imagine the pain. I really want to be going into next week reasonably fresh and not in bits! Any thoughts?
