I think it was a pure westerly wind,which I think is quite favourable on this course,so for the first 5 miles it was cross or tail wind, then the first few miles of the way back it was relatively sheltered by the middle of the island, but the last 2 miles was like hitting a brick wall, with about 1.5 miles to go my average speed was 24.7 miles an hour and by the end it had reduced to 23.9 .. But overall a real fun time :-)
