Mark O
Home safe guys. Bit of a slog at times on the way back. Thankfully no real damage to bike or me. Landing on my head would have been a bonus - might have knocked some sense into me! Alan, hope you're not too bashed up and recover well. Take it easy. 2023 Subscriptions thejanullrichdietplan Posted November 16, 2014 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 16, 2014 Sorry to hear about the crash! If you have any road rash to go with the damaged kit then would recommend some hydrocolloid dressing, it is pretty effective.

2023 Subscriptions AlanT Posted November 16, 2014 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 16, 2014 Glad to hear Mark got back safely too. Alan, I have some fetching lilac bar tape, courtesy of Thomsons raffle prizes from Friday night. If you need it, give me a shout. Paul C
We were bowling along at 20+ mph when Alan's bike suddenly flipped over and Mark flew over the top. I thought there would have been some serious injury. The resilience of youth (not you Mark!) Glad you are both OK - it looked really nasty from my position at the back. Apart from that it was a great run. Dry roads and virtually no wind.
Paul C
Alan - I have an old SRAM crankset which I was keeping for spares. The shaft was badly corroded. The big ring is OK if you want it. PM me if interested.
Mark O
Another of my nine used up Paul. Definitely dodged one there getting off very lightly. Need to work on my pike and tuck positions. Artistic impression score was low too.
2023 Subscriptions Gummers Posted November 16, 2014 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 16, 2014 Hi guys Sorry I missed meet at cafe. Hope Alan and Mark that you're both okay and recovering. Alan I'm sure if you just chatted with the Mrs you'd have negotiated a new helmet. Taking a tumble might be taking things a tad far! Colin McPhee
Hope you are both ok Alan I have a spare fsa gossamer bb30 chainser and a rear 105 mech if you are interested they are both in good condition also be sure and check that your mech hanger is not bent as often happens in these things - if so I also have a spare hanger

Guest George
It's never dull. Got a super slo-mo close up of Alan hitting the deck closely followed by mark doing a triple lutz and a roly poly over the top of him-Mark, your years of rhythmic gymnastics training truly saved your bacon today. Glad you are both ok. I managed to escape unscathed after Paul decided to do some last minute ad-libing with his choice of route-no harm done although my high pitched shriek may have shattered some windows. Lovely day for some bike shenanigans
Mark O
The thing about it is Charlie had I done the lead out at Stewarton a la a Tuesday it would never have happened. The Alans boxed me in.

Life Members chung Posted November 16, 2014 Life Members Report Share Posted November 16, 2014 Sorry to hear about your falls Michael & Alan! Hope you're on the mend soon and get your bike/stuff sorted! P.S Just curious, Paul/Alan - how does one's bike just "flip over"? :-0 Front wheel jammed? Loose skewer? Would be interested to know what happened. Cheers Chung Campbell Hutcheson
Guest EPCC
Chung A couple of maybes Alan stood up and tried to put power down and he either lost his back wheel or chain jammed either way he tried to correct it but by that time front wheel had gone and he came straight down Mark then went over Alan's bike looked bad but Alan and Mark survived Mark should buy another helmet as it took a fair hit
Life Members chung Posted November 16, 2014 Life Members Report Share Posted November 16, 2014 Cheers Billy, doesn't sound like fun I still can't believe this is the same Alan Michael that I witness who not so long ago, going round a roundabout and skidded, lost control of his bike but managed somehow to unclipped, ditched the bike and landed safely both feet firmly on the grass verge :-) Nae luck Alan, but thank god no real damage done! Take it easy! Cheers Alan Michael

Life Members chung Posted November 18, 2014 Life Members Report Share Posted November 18, 2014 Oh dear, sorry to hear about your thumb Alan. Get well soon and don't rush into it. Consider yourself lucky that you don't use Campagnolo, no thumb require to operate Shimano/Sram (unless it's Sora :-))! Take care & see you again soon!
