John C got a reaction from DavidC in Sunday 17th Reliability #3 Sinclair Street
Wasn’t feeling great but so glad I came out. So impressed with the Jets; their fitness, road craft, discipline and kindness waiting at the top of Sinclair St. for us oldies.

John C got a reaction from Richard in Sunday 27th January
Tough windy day but got a little glow of satisfaction now that I’m sitting in front of the fire with a beer.
Thanks to Charlie, with his vast experinace in mechanicals (and impatience) took over to change my tube tout suite. Only to nip the new tube so end up with 2 punctures but the bunch had already disappeared up the road before I’d set off.
Cut to me with a 2nd puncture doing a Fromey’ running up Fairly Moor as they disappeared over the hill. I was actually running and pushing the bike faster than we had been cycling it! And then you couldn’t make it up as one of Charlie’s ‘customers’ drove by and said “do you know Charlie McCusker he’s a Johnstone Wheeler?” and then kindly sped off to flag him down. McC turned back and gave me a 2nd tube, which again he speedly swapped, to perfection, saved the day and all was ok with the World.
The thing I took from this is what I love about the bunch. When things aren’t going well and you are in the proverbial it’s good to know that there are people there that you can fall back on to dig you out of it when needed. Cheers lads.

John C reacted to AlanT in Sunday 20th January
Found the solo run until the bunch caught me horrible, then horrible hanging on at the back until my horrible puncture near Largs. Solo run home was pretty horrible too. Glad to get it over though.
Thanks for the tow round, I need to get on on my bike more.....

Yip. Good to see a big bunch out. Bit grim going through Port Glesga but ended up nice.
Good to see prospective new member, William, out. Hope you enjoyed riding in a big bunch. You’ll get the hang of it soon, I’m sure.

Guys
too much moaning. I will be at club rooms for 9.30 am depart. Will probably arrive at Erskine bridge just before 10.00 and can pick up slackers. As long as u don’t have deep set rims u will be fine. 11 degrees is positively tropical

John C got a reaction from GlenIrving in Sunday 6th Jan
Hope to be out if I can get the winter bike sorted; if not may need to be the summer bike and sit at the back (no change there then...) if that is ok with the Faster / Longer Bunch committee.

John C reacted to Codg1e in Sunday 30th Dec - Glen fruin
Thoroughly enjoyed that today. Good pace, tidy bunch, wasn't so sure about the climb as already had 200 miles in the legs this week but made it. Shame about the slow service at Corries. Ended up going to Bridge Of Weir and taking cycle track to Lochwinnoch (halfway to Kilbirnie) and got 95 miles done (153km in real money) so completed Festive 500 (third attempt at it!). Happy days!

Good day out today, short but lumpy. Thanks to all for towing me about. Struggled badly on the climbs today. How glorious was the weather above the clouds though?
