James Esus reacted to DavieB in Callender Park 9th Oct 2016, Falkirk
Aye great day with mega fields in the races.
Random gridding in the V40 race left the 3 amigos standing around for a while after the gun went but me and Paul had a decent 1st couple of laps making up some places with Davie C no doubt close on our heels. The faster start actually took away some of the bottle necks and at the tree hairpin I managed to ride it 1st time round. Nae luck to Paul with puncture but at least he got spare bike and managed to get a few more laps in.
I was chuffed by not being lapped (not even close) and last year this would probably have got you around a top 30 but this year I was sprinting for 50th place so think the completion has been upped again this year.
Till the next time....

I didn't realise power could go into negative numbers?!

James Esus reacted to P McDonald in Winter World Cup.
So many options, so little time.
I would like to do winter worlds, turbo, track league, cyclo cross and weights through the week in the winter. Trouble is I'd have to rest all weekend and that's not an option with the winter bogs bunch being the best run of the week ( and best training for DA17 ).
So my only suggestion is alternate Monday's for winter worlds and turbo.
Great predicament to have.

As an aged novice I must point out that everything is a challenge!
However to set few marks for 2017, here goes;
1. Ride out with the Chain Gang.
2. Keep the Chain Gang in sight.
3. Ride abroad.
4. SA!
5. Bealach na Ba.

Think I might target a sub 11.15 ironman next year.

James Esus got a reaction from George in New season goals........
After a successful season of winning the Renfrewshire 1/2 Ironman championships (admittedly the only entrant) and completing an Ironman (have I mentioned this?) it's time to do what coach MacDonut suggests and set new goals for next season so here's mine;
1. DA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Beating Paul McDonald's time up the C11 (he bet me a case of beer if I can)
3. Getting another SA to get a hatrick of them.
4. Finish top ten in summer World Cup (was 11th, I think, this year)
4. My annual unachievable goal of beating Paul McDonald to the Largs 30!
5. Bealach Na Ba Weekend
6. To continue looking good in Lycra
What's yours?

Great run. It'll be one of my pre Marmotte training runs but not yet!

James Esus reacted to George in Pre winter bogs bunch training
Marko, this is music to my ears.
I have spent the past 12 months working as Christopher Biggins stunt double but have just been paid off for being too fat so steady miles away from the madness that is the main bunch is what I need.
Might struggle for this Saturday- will let you know in approx 63 parsecs.

James Esus reacted to PaulL in Battle of Balloch Castle Cyclocross 10th Sep 2016
Well that was fun, First two laps wheelers 1-2. Got the Hole Shot (Davie B ) and Alan right behind pushing me on at one point we had a gap to the field but we were both well in the red. At one point I looked at Alan an thought what the **** are we doing leading out this race Well done to the Jets! Nice day out and my Curry paid for

Massive thanks to Jan for creating and running the World Cup!
Has made Thursday nights exciting and fun!
It is clearly fixed when the organiser wins but we haven't mentioned that before!!
Looking forward to seeing how many points Jan wins by next year!
