Another fun wednesday night. First up a points race, was rapid from the start got 4th in one of the sprints then towards the end a break of 5 of us got away and i won the final sprint with the double points. Not sure where i placed overall i think 1st or 2nd - i think one of the other sprints was won by someone that was subsequently lapped so that must have helped. Next was a scratch, passed me by a bit and didnt do anything. Last up an olympic devil with the eliminations every 2nd lap rather than every lap. Tried my usual tactic and the longer distance made it tough - got passed a couple of times and boxed in a bit so had to come around the long way for those sprints. Made it to the last 2 and it turned into a match sprint was fortunate to be at the back so waited for the other guy to open up the sprint then managed to rush the gap on the back straight and get the win. Really pleased with that probably the best devil i've ridden.

As you said, it was definitely a good night on the track Yesterday! You were not far from taking the win on all your races, particularly on the scratch and the devil. You were unlucky during the scratch as the rider forgot to watch behind him before to go up... and then during the devil you got a good strategy for the podium but not the win! With what you proved yesterday, I am sure we could easily get a success on it by improving the strategy
It was for me a good night as well, as I finished it with a win on the devil. Compared to all the last devil I did, this one was full of doubt, I have not been far from being eliminated 4 times (One of the interests to have a small bike) and then when came the last sprint I managed it to surprise from behind to never see them again. In the Scratchs I finished twice third, and did twice the error to decide to lead the sprint which was strategically not the best move knowing the big gear I decided to take and the strong sprinters who were there. It was a good strategy for a podium but not for the win. The Points Race was a bit harder as I tried to finish alone but with 15 guys chasing on me it was clearly about to be aborted before the end.

No need to carry your own micro climate when you carry a positive outlook
We had some minor drizzle at Port Glasgow but nothing of consequence when you are heads down, bottoms up

Good wee ride round the coast today with Eric, steady pace with a few hard efforts, couldn't resist the Bagel!

Another fun night at the track
First up short scratch, maybe about 7th just too many bodies to get through. After that a longer scratch, maybe about 8 of us in a group off front, 2 sneaked off late on...should have made an effort earlier to go with them but thought someone else would do it. They didnt. Almost caught the guy in second by the finish but ended up being caught myself and ended up 4th. After that a points, off the front in a small group, caught then 4th in the second last sprint continued riding and 2 of us stayed away maybe about a half lap in front of the rest i was hanging by then but got a 2nd in the last sprint with double points. No idea where i finished overall though hopefully good enough for a top 5. Last the devil, usual tactic but a couple of others were wanting to do the same thing so much harder to defend position and got boxed in a couple of times and had to come round the back and sprint. Ended up 2nd so pretty pleased with that.

Top marks to Cedric in the As with a win in the 40 lap scratch race.

Chung trip sounds amazing mate, just for info I had a 14 litre saddle bag and small top tube bag for NC500 which was sufficient for me.
    18-20litres would be grand.

    Charlie,
I honestly can’t think of anything I’d rather not be doing that day. The only time I can remember walking up a hill & I was even struggling to walk up it!
We were so lucky with the weather. Can’t imagine what it would be like on those descents in the wet
Then there was the terrifying moment I was attacked by the village leopard-had to beat it to death with my shoes.
    enjoy....

Last night I was visualising my moment of glory on the Hall of fame.
Arrived on Arran this morning with nothing but positive vibes, winter bike metal frame full muddies rear light but chose to ditch the front to go for the title. Set off on a steady pace and feeling good, weather was meant to be sunny but still foggy.
Half way round, 5 minutes behind the summer pace, first negative thought creeps in but crack on.
36 miles, 2 hours dead, means 20 miles in 45ish minutes, games a bogey but again I'll crack on.
Got to the top of Lochranza climb with 30 minutes until the ferry leaves, bottle empty and a wee packet of wiggle haribo, I can make it, I've lost my minerals!
Rode as hard as I could, really really  struggling by this point, missed the boat by 5 minutes.
I'm writing this still on Arran, next boat is 2hrs 40 minutes later, ouch!
On the plus side I don't think I'll have a harder training ride this winter, rode in  Z4 for 1hr 2min and Z5 for 1 hr 52min!
Anyone who completes the Winter Solo is a strong man!

A tale of 2 half's today. Decent wee bunch to Largs, steady pace n a tailwind, Darryl had more sense and stopped for coffee he looked very happy as we passed the BB.
Pretty brutal all the way home, bunch down to 6, head wind freezing and hosing it down, spent the next 2 hours dreaming of the track!
