XXX reacted to AlanT in Angie Macdonald 25, 15th May
The forecast of a light wind and no rain turned out to be a lie. The rain was light, and passed over quite quickly, once the wind got up. About 15 minutes before I went off a stiff breeze sprang up, and was right there in my face for 13 miles. Got to the turn in about 40 minutes, gubbed, then got back in 28, still gubbed.
68:17 for today's effort, 1:19 faster than last year.
It's good to get the first 25 of the year done.

Guys
Very close to having to cancel both of these events , need sign in two people , time keeper 2 people marshals 5 so far we are not anywhere near , also we have clocks for this who has them would like to use them anyway think this would be embarising for the club if we have to cancel , also embarising if we don't have any riders in it.

good challenging route, thanks Billy, group worked well up the Khyber, Crow and along Loch Carron, up Tak and down with a few added dramatic adventures! No reverse Tak and Crow for Alan and me but respect to the hardmen who went back for more! A short coffee break in Lennoxtown gave me the chance to assess the damage, looks just likes lumps and cuts and the bike responded well on the way back. Thanks to Alan for straightening out brakes/shifters and the bunch for insisting I head for home after 'binning it'. Still got nearly 74 miles and 5400 feet on a pleasant day.

Richard
I think the change was due to the club running some CTT events on 18 and 25 so I have to take the blame a bit for this
We have some riders riding the west of Scotland Leauge and I think it's only right that we should contribute to it so we are running 2 25 mile TT as practice for the 25 national , I think if it goes well we will run the same next year prior to the national and our confined events might not need to be altered after the calendar has been produced

XXX got a reaction from Darryl Gunson in Wanted: Campagnolo 11 speed lever(s)
Mark
I will refer you to two business reports recently published both showing a downward trend on Shimano and SRAM , which resulted in both reducing there prices to try and increase sales.
Campagnolo have not reduced price or had such a sharp fall , second point shamal Millie ultra wheels maybe the best value light alloy wheel on the market , improved braking due to spiral braking surface and special break blocks nearest in weight is mavic costing 1400 .
Lightest electronic group set campag , what do you get on classic bikes campag what does every Shimano owner aspire to Campag super record.
Plus I have both

Big thanks to our friends Gregg (who really wants to be in JWCC) and Richie from the Koooriers who, as well as doing lots of work at the front, also introduced us to the wonders of Largs Poundbasket, opposite the comfort stop.
Astounding amounts of much-needed sugar for a quid. Makes my teeth hurt thinking about it now, this must be the caries-ridden centre of Ayrshire, but it cannot be beaten when you're on the edge of bonking.
