Ian Archibald got a reaction from Alan Michael in Wednesday 29th
So 9 45 at the Bishopton Coop. I can tell you how I beat your PB on the Georgetown this Tuesday night. Low pressure, little wind and super fit...

Even if its cancelled I plan to do it. Is there a Strava segment?

Just catching up with this and i tend to lean towards marks thoughts, over complicated events will discourage people from taking part i feel.. Jan's spread sheet for the chain gang was a good idea, weekly up dates allowing riders to know their position in the event, and what they kneaded to do to move up the standings..
An open and transparent simple competition, it's just coming up with that that's difficult lol

Scottish 10mile TT is 8 May. Perfect preparation. I've put it on my calendar: 180km paceline practice.

Can't make it. On holiday. Fingers crossed you don't take my Lugton to Kilwinning KoM off me. We raced down the Lochlibo Road last year with the wind on our back...

Ian Archibald got a reaction from Alan Michael in Main Bunch 08/01/17
If "faster" bunch meant 27kph+ and I knew who was coming ("moi" and "edvald" are likely to be people I know but who are they?) - I'd like to come out some Sundays.
My first JWCC ride was almost 3 years ago now and I still don't follow what goes on (and so in the main I do my own thing). There must be a sub forum in Esperanto right?
I know. This post doesn't help.

If the warm down includes 3 beers and a pie and beans I could be persuaded. What time (10am) and meeting at the club rooms?

You need to know the route (we go off individually every 60s) and you need a bike and the £3 entry fee. No time limit. Usually only 6 to 8 cyclists. Very casual. The meeting point is underneath the M8 right on the Clyde. We will talk you through what you do. Probably best get there earlyish.

I'm in. Definitely. Season ends for me. Got Rio from the 8th. No surging. No stopping. Sub 2hrs 30 for first lap. See how everyone shapes up in the next couple of weeks.

Team
Apologies in ADvance, this itch will not go, ever, until the deed is done.
Always better to plan aheAD so thought I would propose a new DAte for the ultimate challenge with a good few weeks notice to plan training and taper.
SaturDAy 6th August. Who might be up for that DAte?
Power flat Jan, power everything Alan, threshold man Alex, climber Colin, fresh from injury Ian, pray for us Jesus, extreme climber James, paceman Marko, Dr Alan, honeymoon boy Rob, Andy de Rosa, Cheeky Chas, coach Billy, etc etc
You all know the script and what you would be signing up for.
I might need a big miles and small beers holiDAy if there are enough takers enough for this DAte
:)
Ps Alan, before you reply you might want to check if you have entered anything !!

Dress rehearsal for the club champs next week...

Ian Archibald reacted to thejanullrichdietplan in Chain gang 7 th July 6.30 pm
The glory of winning the sprint to Houston, overshadowed by the shame of being beat by me for the KOM points!
(of course you would have been way out in front had you not gone round the roundabout but the spreadsheet doesnt mention that )
Overall a good night. Still faster than the Renfrew bunch for the west ferry tonight, the steady paceline must be more efficient than going through and off without the big surges.
Last week and this weeks results

Ian Archibald reacted to Alan Michael in updated jwcc events ?
^ This is definitely what we need. Let's get things happening and start acting like a cycling team/club. Too many of us cycling as individuals (where is the fun in that) or not cycling at all (entering race's) alex/robbie. Count me in for 4/3 or 2 man TTs

Ian Archibald got a reaction from GrahamF in updated jwcc events ?
How can we coax Ian McTavish, Paul McDonald, Alex Baird etc to put on some clip on bars and enter the Club Champs 10 miles? Also I'd like to have a go at a 4 man TT up the GT (Richard, Alan, Me and Jan?) to get a Strava time under 15 minutes. Could we hijack a 2 up GT event?
