PaulL got a reaction from Gerard Deeley in Sunday 24th Feb Reliability Run #4
Big group of 9am Jets and sandbaggers nice run down the coast in pleasant weather, well done to Mairi on her first club outing! making it to Largs. Thanks to AlanT and his wife for delicious soup and my own personal patisserie(Gspot) for supplying the eclairs(Sorry if you didn't get to try one! I had one and a half, I have cake issues).
Good fun!

PaulL got a reaction from EricL in Paris-Brest-Paris 2019
Well looks like the plan is back on, Myself, David Cathcart and David Borland(Once he figures out the PBP Webiste) Inspired by and following in the footsteps of JWCC PBP Legend IRONMAN Campbell will attempt the 1200km ride... To be honest when we talked about it in the pub I thought they were talking about the Famous Paris Brest French dessert... Only a matter of riding a 200, 300, 400 and 600km before June, If anyone else is interested in coming and has a qualifying ride last year 300km and in a week 200km can pre-register let us know! Weirdos Welcome!

First go at the CX today, dug out my 10 year old kit, last worn about 2 stone ago and decided my tactic would be start at the back and try my hardest to stay there.
A bit apprehensive I stayed near the rear of the race to begin with, and soon found myself pegging back some places.
Just as i thought it was all going well, the race got fairly strung out, with the fast group miles ahead, there were no more targets.
Around the 40 min mark Cedric came flying past to lap me with apparently no effort.
The dismount needs a bit of work, coming to a stop to get back on, apparently isnt the mist time efficient.
Got to the finish with no crashes and not in last place, a resounding success!
Well done to Cedric who i believe won by a country mile on a warm sunny day.

I have had better starts to a ride, not getting onto the bike track proper before puncturing from all the glass shards. That meant a bit of a push on my own to catch up with everyone else, not helped by me not paying attention to the route. There is something quite amazing and heartwarming to see everyone waiting for you, so a big thank you to everyone who was there, a new measure of reliability. Maybe I should also post up recipes for Paul Leavy.

Jets went round (most) of the week route today. We had to split our bunch and the leader of the main bunch took a wrong turn on the gateside road and ended up in Beith. This meant none of us rode the Bridesmill road.
Other than that course fine: just stuff we know. A bit rutted along the bottom of the Barrmill circuit and also a bit rough before the 30 sign at Howwood down the Bowfield.

Lot of fun to be had in the C's indeed.
In the A's, Cedric bossed the elimination as usual. Chapeau sir.
Stevie, Sam and I in the C's, always difficult predict form and Stevie was not in his usual top 3 slots tonight. Sam and I made up for it, that's the benefit of the team , only race we didn't really feature was the points.
Tempo, 1st Sam, 3rd me
Scratch, 2nd me, 3rd Sam
Points, 6 me (outside chance of top 5), Stevie 2 and Sam 1 I think
Elimination, 1st Sam, 2nd me

Probable...that I miss out the Loch Katrine loop and replace it with an interesting, long and tasty lunch in Callendar, and pick up the bunch later.
