AlanT reacted to thejanullrichdietplan in Ride with Pippa York Tuesday 8th June
Good turnout today for the mural unveiling - after that a ride over the Crow and then a loop through Killearn and Strathblane and back to the start.
I’d like the record to state i was joint first to the top of the Crow - beating everyone else including the former Tour de France polka dot jersey winner in the process. A show of strength from Scotlands premier cycling club to the watching media.....I may have started 5 minutes before everyone else but it still counts 🤣

AlanT got a reaction from ginty001 in NEW: Wednesday evening social rides
7 of us set off from the clubrooms on a warm but windy summers evening. Stuart, Lauren, Dan, Alan, Kenny, Gary and me. Stuart and Lauren dropped out at Kilbarchan, but the rest of us carried on, staying together (mostly), helping out the riders that struggled with the hard bits, particularly once we got pas the 20 mile mark.
We had a great tailwind on the way out, but that made it a little tougher on the way back, especially on the uphill bits, however, we all arrived back at the clubrooms together. Pace was slow enough to chat, quick enough to stay warm as temperatures dropped.
A good start to the social runs.

AlanT got a reaction from Gerard Deeley in Re-arrangement to event calendar
Ladies and gents, after discussion, I have decided that there will be a small re-arrangement to the confined event calendar.
The 2 x 25 mile TTs on Lochlibo Road on 6th and 13th July will be cancelled, and replaced by 2 x 10 mile TTs on the Westferry. The second of those (13th July) will be the Frank Lauder memorial 10. We will also change the Chocolate #8 to a 10 on the Westferry, so that there are 2 'warmup' 10s before the Frank Lauder.
I have posted an amended schedule.

AlanT got a reaction from Gerard Deeley in League of 10 #2, 1st June
Lovely evening for a brutal, lumpy TT. Thanks to Dave and Carol for timekeeping and post ride complex carbohydrate recovery drinks.
Without actually doing the sums on it, I think this puts Gerard in front on the league of 10 for this season. So far, anyway.

AlanT reacted to Dave C in League of 10 #2, 1st June
Warm night for the hilly TT tonight and 5 riders took part. Times as follows:
Dave F 30.42 paid
Scott 30.15
Alan 28.54 paid
George 28.34
Gerard 27.52 paid.
Good efforts by all and I enjoyed the beer in the Houston Inn on the way back.

We did meet up after all, neither of us wanted the newer guys to wait if they did turn up. We had to self time so we can only be cheating on ourselves if not accurate enough.
Scott 18m34s
Gerard 18m28s

Gerard’s payment is covered.😁
£12 transferred to the club account.
A cracking night for it tonight, and that was my best time since 2019……

Planning to ride. The timekeeper may need a calendar.

Georgetown it is then, not a proper TT season unless there are disruptions. I can time-keep if no-one else wants to do it, we need to take our turn.

I was going to ride tomorrow. It's only just come to my attention, sadly, that I'm not meant to leave Glasgow which is still in Level 3.

Cracking run this morning. Really glad I bailed after Glen Fruin with a smaller bunch back round the road. Legs are totally shredded now. Cheers for calling the run Iain.

We are in trouble McT. Ordered the latest hi tech skinsuit today. 10 day delivery. Reckon if we are going to beat Sam we better do it soon. Like last year probably.

League of 10 #2 will take place on Tuesday 18th May, same time, same place UNLESS there is a lane closure in place at Finlaystone, in which case we will go to the Georgetown road for the first ride in the Chocolate series. The second alternative would be to do the hilly TT from Langbank to Houston and back. 🤮
I will assess the road on Monday night and post up the finalised arrangements.
Regardless of what is happening on the road, we will have an event on Tuesday evening.
can we have a volunteer to timekeep please? That role also includes the role for co-ordinating the track and trace info.

Try giving Willie Cosh a shout. He’s got all sorts of weird things tucked away in the workshop.

AlanT got a reaction from Darryl Gunson in The return of the Confined Events, Tuesday 11th May 6.45 for 7:00 start
I am pleased to advise that the first of the 2021 confined events will take place on Tuesday 11th May, first rider off at 7:00pm.
The event is a 10 mile time trial, officially #2 in the league of 10, but actually the first to be held.
There are some changes to the format from previous seasons, due to coronavirus restrictions.
Riders will turn up, give their details and money to the timekeeper, ride the event and then go home. There will be no holders. Times will be posted on the bunch in due course.
For the purpose of covid restrictions, the timekeeper will be the designated ride leader and will forward the track and trace info to Eric.
It's been a long time waiting folks, so good luck to everyone who chooses to ride. I need a volunteer to timekeep.
I'll be looking for a sub 30 minute ride.....

Try SJS cycles. You’ll find them on the internet. Alternatively, there’s eBay.

You can find the reliability routes on the club rides section. Saw your run today on strava. So I guess you’ve found those already. The TT courses, you’re already familiar with.
