Good turn out of Wheelers and Jets tonight. In the Bs first up 50 lap points, i find myself on the front after about 6 laps and just stay there hoping to go quite hard but still have enough to sprint. Easier said than done, ended up getting a third but after that the race passed me by and didnt get anything else. Next 25 lap scratch, was trying hard to keep a good position and was managing this ok until about 10 laps to go when i went from about 7th wheel to 20 odd over what seemed like the course of a lap.  Tried hard to move up with about 4 laps to go made ok progress but didnt have the second kick when it mattered. Last race was another 25 lap scratch, wrong side of a split fought hard to get back on but couldnt manage it eventually chucked it with a few laps remaining.

It was great Iain, ive done it a couple of times before and today was by far the toughest, wind was brutal on the way home from the Mearns, and the horizontal rain didn't help, bit the free macaroni cheese at the end was awesome, rode very briefly in Sean Kellys wheel, but didn't fancy trying to hold that pace for the next 35 miles, so just let him get on with it. Great show of Joansin Jets out too :-)

Slightly different format tonight with a womens group added, i think that was the 2nd biggest group of the night so good to see it being successful from the start.

In the Bs first up was a 50 lap points went off with the front with a couple of others after 35 laps unfortunately they sat up after about half a lap and found myself off the front and ended up getting caught before the line on the sprint then just hanging on for the rest. Another good showing from Danny with him taking the win, makes it look easy. Next up a couple of 25 lap scratches. My legs felt pretty good, however same story as last week - mentally i wasnt at the races, too cautious and overthinking things. Although in saying that the last scratch race had some of the worst riding ive seen all year so there was plenty to be cautious about! Not sure how i'll gain more confidence other than more racing - if only the Pactimo club shop did Keirin gear

Enjoyable ride, only negative was the super tailwind we were all looking forward to didnt really materialise on the return leg it was more like a crosswind by then.

Well done to James making the step up to the main bunch, that was a bit harder than normal today.

    Fun night.

First up was a 60 lap points, instead of being sensible i went for the first sprint but dug a bit too deep and after that was hanging on and suffering. Next was a 30 lap scratch, race just passed me by. Final 30 lap scratch, concentrated harder to maintain a good position and the pace felt quite comfortable (i dont know if this was because of positioning or because it was slower). Followed an attack with 12 laps to go, we got caught with 8 left. Managed to recover a bit and was in a good position as the sprint started with 2 to go bell went and into the corner about to make one final big effort for the night down the backstraight...then someone swung up and i had to swing up to avoid them and that was that.

Fastest night since we started back in the Bs with a full field. Things look like they are picking up numbers wise, quite a few regulars not there yet all the groups looked pretty full.

First up 60 lap points - managed to bridge to a solo attack that went away after the 2nd sprint we worked together for a bit but ended up getting caught before the line on the 3rd sprint and then i was just hanging on. Next two races were 30 lap scratches - legs were feeling ok, shame my head wasnt in the game! I was too cautious so continually lost places and ended up on the back knowing i had to make an effort to move up before the sprint started but again being too cautious and leaving it too late both times. Sort of frustrating!

Good turnout of wheelers and jets tonight.

First up in the Bs was a 60 lap points, about a quarter of the way through i swung up after my half lap turn and realised i was off the front. Upped the pace a little and pushed on but i only maintained the gap so i suspect i was being hung out to dry! At least managed to get one of the sprints before being caught. Sit in to recover for a bit then follow an attack and find myself off the front again. D'oh! We worked together but i was suffering big time and we get caught and i can only roll round rather than contest the final sprint. Next was a 30 lap scratch, hardly did any work at all just followed wheels then attacked with 1.5 to go Danny zooms past on the back straight and i expected a couple of others to follow but we had a gap so managed to hold on for 2nd. Tried the same tactic in the last race but it didnt work this time was poorly positioned when the pace picked up and had too much to do.

It is a bit unfair to Richard (and maybe others) to postpone the senior championship if it has been on the calender for a while. Also the national hill climb is coming up and starting in Elderslie so having the club champs the weekend before seems like good timing as presumably some will be racing in that too.

Although just to be clear on one thing - i have no intention of entering a hill climb whatever the date may be!

Cracking day out, pretty much ideal weather. Felt like its still summer!

Was in group 2 with Al, Alex and Colin - it looked like they were floating up the climbs and i was chewing the stem hoping not to get dropped. The rest of the group were ok - sometimes working well together sometimes not. It wasnt really helped by couple of riders (non Wheelers) who kept sitting in the moving up line only they weren't moving up and by doing so were blocking others. Someone also kept shouting that we should be going steadier on the flat bits...that was a bit annoying, suffering so much up the hills to then ease off on the flat. I eventually got dropped going up the final climb, but it was just as group 3 and the scratch riders caught so was easy enough to get back on over the descent. From then on probably about 40 riders for the run in, Alan really well placed about 4th wheel and an attack goes which he follows and they have a gap. To be honest at first it looked like a daft move but they were staying out and working well together so it started to look like it might work. I went to the front of the bunch to try and slow things down. That however definitely didnt work as i ended up getting swarmed pretty quickly. By then it was the finishing straight - i was next the kerb and boxed in so didnt bother going for it. Probably just as well i'd only have ended up sprinting for the wrong flag anyway!

Not that any of this mattered much - group 1 managed to stay away so chapeau to Charlie and Iain!

Eventful night in the Bs, first up 60 lap points, didnt contest the first 3 sprints but after the 4th a rider went off the front and i was waiting until he got a decent distance so i could then try and bridge. However left it too long and couldnt bridge, he managed to get the lap and i was dangling in no mans land for about 15 laps. I won one of the sprints by default  but by that stage my legs were gone. Next up 30 lap scratch, feeling good until my front wheel was clipped when someone swung down into a gap that wasnt there.I landed on my head then my face but helmet done its job, some track burns down the side of my leg and a banged elbow. Bit stingy in the shower and will no doubt be a bit sore tomorrow but hopefully be ok for Bute at the weekend. Never nice to crash but could have been worse - judging by the marks and scratches on them my sunglasses kept my cheekbone and bridge of my nose off the track!

Alan T was doing a good job of recruiting at the track league so there might be a new member coming along too. If any other potential new members are reading this thread then this ride would be the ideal introduction to the club.

Still finding the B's tough although a bit better than last week.  Slight improvement with the 60 laps points managing the dizzying heights of 3 points rather than a single 1. Next up was a 30 lap scratch which i managed to get a 2nd in so pretty pleased with that then last was also a 30 lap scratch but  after a turn at the front i drifted towards the back then the pace increased and ended up drifting off the back - tried to get back on for few laps but imy legs were done by then so ended up chucking it with 5 to go. Chapeau to Danny who got a 1, 2 and 3rd in the Bs.
