Gummers reacted to P McDonald in Bogs bunch
Great bogs bunch today. 14 strong. Especially good to see charlie out again and digging in to howwood - chapeau that man first time back out. And a very strong surge for the 30 at Largs which inadvertently led me out and we got a 1-2
Davie B relinquished the cx bike for the day and enjoyed the driest saturday for at least a month.
Pace was quite subdued with a couple of short exceptions into largs and on admiralty circuit.

Gummers reacted to Mark O in Rescheduled End of season full club ride - 20th Oct 2013 (someone buy Mark a calendar please)
I'll echo all of the above comments. Great to see do many out from all 3 bunches and the jets too.
Very relaxed pace but not dawdling. Well done all those who did more than usual and perhaps surprised themselves. Hopefully some will kick on from here and consider moving up a bunch - now is the time to do it.
A word on the bagel basket, I thanked the staff on the club's behalf. The response was that they love having us on a Sunday as we do liven up their day.
I'll aim to organise another run like this in the spring, perhaps after the reliability runs when the racing guys are on a recovery weekend and again mid summer - thinking of an Argyll day out for that.
Lastly Greigsy you were posted missing. Missed your inane ramblings at the coffee stop.

Gummers got a reaction from Big Al in Wheelers & Jets Presentation Dance 12th October 2013
Congrats to all the prize winners especially Elaine Muirhead, Iain Couttie and Big Al who all cleaned up the evening. Special congrats to big Al for Rider of the year. Well deserved for achievements on track, tt and the small matter of a long cycle home. Well done Greig for organisation. Never done an MC before. Throroughly enjoyed despite a few gaffs!

Gummers reacted to P McDonald in Rothesay APR 22nd September
Yes Rothesay was grand day oot as always. Weather was best it has been for many years, usually wet, wild and dung spattered roads. Sunday was dry, warm with dry dung. I had a temporary break from my break from racing as the prospect of a dry Rothesay was just too good to miss. I am weak but it was worth it!
Andy and I in group 3 of 4. Group 4 had only 4 elite chappies. First 15 miles were purgatory for me as I have only being doing weights for past couple of weeks but came round a bit after turn. Lost big ring for a bit where Andy and another guy I know very generously pushed me. I had accepted I would need to chuck it as the road flattened out and the big ring would be required. I was frantically spinning the 34-12 when suddenly I got big ring back so of course had to stay there for remainder. Elite group catching us jacked up the pace and eventually the group blew apart amongst much munching of stems. Andy and I were in group of 8 or so approaching last long drag with 6 to go. Andy, performing exceptionally well in his first season racing ( hard to believe that one) just lost contact or so he told me as I couldn't see anything except a reddish haze and a hub in front of me. And so road racing over for a few months but there is always track which I shall be returning to after the remainder of my 1 month break.

Billy
It was a fine day out and hats off to Ian for a strong performance in the novice race. Paul and I headed out in Group 3. Mixed start with 16 or so guys but some reluctance to work as a full train. Very quickly after the Mount Stewart Climb the working bunch came down to 3 Couriers, 2 Wheelers and three other guys from Inverclyde, ERC and Glasgow Wheelers. Coming into Rothesay the pace seadily climbed with a catch of part of group 2.
At the turn I knew there was a wee ramp so I stamped on the pedals to stay high up the front for the forthcoming climb. Scott Newman and I ended up out ourselves until the catch at the top if the climb. Paul switched to the big ring or at least tried to. Desperate minute of so while I game him my wheel and another (wiser) guy gave him a push to stay on. Just as Paul was about to think curtains the gear moved into place. Pace continued then the 4 elite guys arrived. Pace was strong but fine then after the climb before mount Stewart the perverbial hit the fan. Bunch split into 2 groups. Much suffering was had. I managed to get back on the second group with Paul and hold his wheel. Come Mount Stewart I was off again. Worked with the hard working ERC guy to the climb but he was busted at the top. Long solo down to line. Think I was 40secs down on Paul's bunch. Over the line I was emptied. 24 mph average pace. Good day and great end to a first season of racing. Completely bitten by the bug now.

I was down at Planet X in Rotherham last week and had a good look at their cross bike - The Dirty Disco. Imho you won't get a better bike for this kind of money. And available on interest free credit or bike-to-work.
