It's due to be a bit stormy this evening, but I will come and timekeep if there are any confirmed entries!

So if you are planning to battle the wind and rain, please post confirmation or I may not be there!

We are still short of a second volunteer to push off, perhaps a chance for a new member to get involved and see what goes on before participating another time.

Five hardy souls ventured out this morning in challenging winds, though as forecast the rain did ease!  Times as follows:

    1. Alan McBride 26:48 PB (Paid)

    2.  Ian McGinty 27:43 PB (Paid)

    3. Alan T 29:47 (Paid double last week)

    4.  Mike Ferguson  33:02 (Paid)

    5. James Maclaren  33:23 (Payment to come/next time)

Some great times and PBs on a tough, early season morning and a fine win for Alan McB on full muddies and no tri bars    Well done to all.
Many thanks to Paul L for haudin' up and early identification of finishing riders.

Â£9.00 to club funds on the day.

    10:00am Langbank, about 10 miles.

Following on from last week, which was great fun with wonderful weather!  This is the second and final of the Langbank Hillys this season, so your last chance to record a time.

As last week, the start is in Langbank, just along from The Wheelhouse restaurant. The course runs up the B789 all the way to the small roundabout in the middle of Houston, where you turn and re-trace most of the way back to Langbank. The end of the course cuts off to the left before the last steep sections and finishes at the entrance to Gleddoch Country Club.

Here is a link to the route: http://www.mapmyride.../view/650383978

An undulating course, reasonably quiet road for those yet to do their first TT, open to those who intend to join the club or are already a member.

Iain Cowden and Mike Ferguson have offered to officiate, but supporters / photographers are always welcome.

    Hello All,

Bit of a mix bag today in terms of the weather, the sun was out but the wind was not very kind

A bunch of 11 left the clubroom this morning with Alan Fox, Boyd, David & Carol, Graham, John S, Paul (route master), Martin, Renny, Ross & myself on route to sunny Troon via Kilmuirs etc. Picked up Campbell on the way to Bowfield where upon Martin was struck down by the evil puncture

Wheel sorted and off we went again with Boyd, Graham, Carol & David opting for an alternative route & departed to do their own thing just before Stewarton, leaving the remaining 8 heading to our original destination!
We arrived in Troon's Blueberry Cafe fairly early, just as well as there stop serving bacon rolls after 11.30am .......... phew ........ near catastrophe :-)

Fuelled & eager to get back in time to get on with the rest of the day, we made good progress with welcome assistance from the partial tail wind enroute home!
I even manage to get back to Mearns just in time to catch the bunch doing their second lap of the Fenwick first race, spotted a Wheeler in the peloton which I think was Greg? He was so comfortable sitting in, even managed a wee wave to me :-) Sorry I could not stay for the 2nd race where I knew there would be a few more Wheelers in the Bunch, hope you guys had a good one!

Anyway, good run today with plenty of wheels to follow, cheers chaps!

    Thanks for reading

    Cheers

P.S Sorry Paul for jumping in to write this ride report :-) Thanks for planning the route!

Well, that's was rather cold & wet this morning! :-)

3 Jets coach + 4 Wheelers in the shape of shape of Katrina, Alan McLean, Martin M, Martin (new Wheeler) Campbell (Ironman), Alan Fox & myself with the company of at least ten Jets (sorry, can't tell who's who as they're all skinny and ride with such efficiency) made up the 9.00am bunch on this last Reliability Run, in "glorious" weather round to Largs and up the Haylie via Kilburnie then home. Understandably we had to cut the run short as some of us (myself included) were suffering from mild hyperthermia :-)
I, so wanted to get in David support vehicle at Weymss Bay, but couldn't due to lack of room

Alan's tyre blow out was quite spectacular both in terms of sound & visual effect, I could literally see sparks coming from this wheel sitting behind him. I thought someone threw a firecracker at us!

Special credit must go to the Jets who rode with gusto & never heard them moan once about the riding conditions (that was left to me to do) and I think they all should be awarded with a " Rule 9" badge! :-) Respect!

Big thanks to Jane back at the clubroom for providing the welcome mushroom soup & large spread waiting for our appearance!

Thanks to everyone for the wheels today, it was obviously very much needed by me!

    Cheers

    Hi all,

Was out on the Moscow circuit this morning. There is still some ice on the Waterslap road (the road between Fenwick village and the Moscow circuit itself).

It's at the bit where the road descends and crosses a burn. It doesn't last for long, and doesn't cover the whole road, but worth looking out for especially when going downhill.

    Cheers

Really great race today! Jan and myself were out amongst over 40 other women on the start line! Glasgow riderz did a really good job holding the event and found the coaching session really useful too. pretty flat course, so fast but still with some good muddy sections. Think I finished 4th overall too! Hopefully there will be more coaching/racing days throughout the year like today and the one last week, definitely want to race cyclocross next winter now.
