    DavieB got a reaction from KennyS in World Cup Cyclocross on UCI Channel - Sunday 26th
    If interested the next round of cyclocross world cup will be available online via the UCI channel on Sunday.

    Can catch either live or on playback - from experience the womens elite will start about 12:30 with the elite mens at 14:00hrs.

    More exciting than a pan flat stage in the TdF.

    You will need to be procuring from somewhere other than the local Lidl for that ........

    Andy,

    Will probably try and do this and perhaps dig in at the dock.

    Helps keep me motivated and I enjoy it.

    Andy,

    Good report it is a cracking course and the sand section - all rideable - is good fun. Also, the sight of a line of riders silhoutted against the coastal sky as they shoulder their bikes up the run-up section is pretty iconic as you ride towards it.

    Rubbishy race for me with chain tangled up between cassette and hub three times - I was close to packing when it happened at the base of the big rideable climb on the last lap but this is totally down to me being a plank and not setting the limits on my new rear mech. Legs couldn't really get going either but it was still fun.

    Two highlights of the day;

    > On the initial scramble off the start line two riders abreast going into the first wee bomb hole and in perfect sync going over the handle bars - carnage ensued!

    > The organisers getting my name wrong on the results sheet

    Andy -you going to the Scottish Championship?

    Andy, Al,

    Glad you enjoyed it ...it's quite addictive.

    Al - from your description my transition technique is even worse than I suspected or my wee stubby legs just don't cover the same distance as yours - I suspect a bit of both. If you cleared the first ditch in one bound then evidently one small step for Big Al represents a giant leap for Wee Davie - Chapeau.

    Andy - cool bike BTW, how the other half live eh? Here was me fettling out the bolt holes on my crappy chain ring to get it to fit I think this "auld skool" approach may equate to tight git. Where's my flexible friend.

    See you at the sands of Irvine.

    Brutal, brutal and brutal probably sums it up. Course design by the marquis de Sade. Long laps with lots of climbing and portage /transition.

    Legs shredded churning too big a single ring at the front and DIY drive train running like a bag of bolts so time to break out the credit card.

    Apart from that fun.

    Enjoy the carbs.

    Missed yersel today Andy über fun.

    Race did not get off to a great start as chain broke halfway round the warm up lap, after a run to the Thompson's tent it was split and mended by very helpful mech before a sprint to the start line, just got onto the rear of the grid as the gun went off. Race on.

    Great course and rain stayed off, no idea where I ended up but some great fun racing through some (even) slower riders from the rear of the bunch before some decent mid pack duels.

    Some bike mods required before EK in a couple of weeks.

    Well done Mike, James and numerous Jets great to see the popularity of 'cross continue.

    Quality!

    Going to look at my choice of tyres as mine seem to be a lot skinnier than most on the grid but think for next year the holy grail is tubs.

    It was a race of 3 sections -

    > a truly shocking start and 1st lap (my worst yet);

    > not a bad middle section when I was happy launching into suicide descents and forcing passes into corners;

    > latter section couldn't stop falling off which resulted in me riding like a jessie at each technical section (which didn't do much in terms of stopping me falling off) before shipping my chain twice in last lap.

    Overall I was relieved to find I wasn't last!

    Seen Big Al's posts so hopefully see some more of the JWCC in the vets and seniors events soon - highly recommended. I'm in for Balloch next week.

    After my "mare at Falkirk today I could probably do with some as I feel my lap times would have been better if i could have stayed upright. Still fun though

    This is very unfortunate since I'm approaching 41, bald and have been pretty much "out" for the rest of the season so it makes perfect sense that I should be coming into the "form" of my life......

    good course today,as usual climb up the crow was hard. We had about a mile on the flat then up the climb with the long steady climb
    was strugalling to keep heart rate down,got coght by ben at the top. was using my new tt water bottle so has a wee drink at the top, put it back hit a bump and lost it, big decision £10 for new one or ten seconds to stop, kept going.The decent was terifing on a tt bike, i hit 40mph on the way down, not that i was looking at the time! The flat was a good run with a gentle tail wind at points cruising at 30 od mph.The course was only 24.5 miles so got a bit misjudged and could have put more out for the last few miles.I ended on 1hr 10.45 which was good enough for 14th! I am pleased as #### considering the caliber of the other riders.
