I second Jann, I bought a couple of pairs of Endura FS260 Pro recently, it's a very individual thing.
See you on the road sometime soon

I got some pearl izumi ones for commuting and turboing. They're pretty comfortable for me, but then I've got short fat legs.

Endura FS260 pro ladies shorts are good. Not sure if they make them in bibs too.

Ramsay reacted to ginty001 in Bib Shorts Recommendations
Hi Ramsay,
the only ones I've bought recently are the club ones which are pretty decent, but not brilliant, and some cheaper Altura ones for my commute which are fit for purpose, but not great for long rides.. I also have a pair of Gore ones which are very light and very comfy, but also very short on the leg compared to the others.. these Endura ones get pretty good write ups for a reasonable price http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/endura-fs260-pro-ii-bib-shorts-aw16/rp-prod71001
cheers

Guys
Massive thanks for your kind messages and to those of u who visited me in hospital. Don't think I was great company but your kindness and support really touched me especially at a time when I was feeling quite melancholic. Not got much recollection of crash. Remember a young fella nearly taking me out about 3 laps earlier then remember being in 3 rd last lap as had made decision to go for sprint with 2 to go. Unfortunately crashed on bend of 3rd last lap.Had no idea what caused crash. Remember guy telling me I had been out cold for 90 secs. In ambulance another rider involved in crash told me that he and another fella touched wheels and came down. I presume they took me down but if any one heard anything different please let me know. Also are the other riders ok.
I sustained a left neck femur fracture left rib fractures a head injury and a few bruises. The consultant told me that femur op went well but unfortunately chest X Ray today
Showed a very small left pleural effusion so my recovery may be longer than I first thought.
This has been my 3rd serious bike crash in as many years so time for me to pause & reflect. My wife is already trying to invoke 3 strikes and you are out rule. I have already conceded track cycling but jury still out for the road but as Prof Gunson recovered from a far more serious crash than mine feel it would be rude not to keep him company for the first part of a run at least.
Once again many thanks for your remarkable support

Ramsay reacted to AlanT in Sunday 21st.
James, Iain Couttie, Ramsay(making a welcome return) and myself set off from a murky and cold Johnstone for a murky and cold runout to Largs (cold and murky) via Kilbirnie and Dalry. Iain peeled of at inverkip, and Ramsay headed up the Clune, leaving James and I to TT back down the Westferry to Bishopton. 66 cold and murky miles clocked.
Good run out, even in the cold and, er, murkiness.

Good run today with 10 leaving Miller St and making our way to Stewarton to meet up with Jane and Grahame at Jacks Cafe, but as things turned out we missed each other. First time in this cafe and it was full of cyclists and is bike friendly. Group split on way home with majority retracing our route with a tailwind and through mist and gloom but a good run back to Miller Street. Thanks for the company guys and girls and hopefully more of the same next week.

Ramsay reacted to Kenny MacDonald in Saturday, 1 October 2016 - Hill Climb Championships for the Joe Brunetti Shield 10:30 Howwood, 0.3 miles
Well done to all riders , I was delighted to attend and see so many riders competing. I had my father Murdo MacDonald along who was club race secretary in 70/80s . He couldn't believe the number of Jets competing and the variety of age ranges. Well done to riders and officials a great event showcasing the multi talented riders the club has .
My father was surprised by the gazebo at the start line wishing they had been invented in his day plus iphone stopwatches completely confused him , I was happy to be the catcher at the summit for the riders and give them a wee help to get their feet out and recover . An old tradition which hopefully will be used in future event's as I always appreciated it when I was competing .
ps the jets were easier to push but as the number grew it was further to push them up the hill each time so I got a good work out LOL

Would love to make a proper comeback as I still really miss racing and club riding, but not going to happen. Happy to be able to do a couple of hours though.....especially when the sun is shining.

Blimey, not been on here for months, but seems I've been spotted pottering around Renfrewshire/Ayrshire on the bike.
Sorry Fabian Carbonara (George Donnelly?) mustn't have recognised you.

Ramsay reacted to duncan thomson in Tarmac Continues Sponsorship of Jets
we could offer a great marketing opportunity, put some of their tarmac down, maybe in a 1.5- 2k circuit. call it a closed road.
just a thought...
