What a great turn out for a mid week hill climb, with 8 riders and 3 timekeepers/holders. Some good times as well (which have been checked and slightly corrected).

    1 - Fergus 1:46
    2 - John C 1:51
    3 - Alan H 2:06
    4 - Dave C 2:16
    5 - Alan T 2:28
    6 - Emma 2:39
    7 - Graham 2:42
    8 - Carol 3:31

    Well done all.

Thanks to Jann for being top timekeeper and Campbell for holding and pushing off.

Right, here are the times from today, although the championship results are based on handicap times, so everyone will need to wait until the dance to find out who the winners are.

    1 - Alan T & Elaine M - 19:12
    2 - Elaine S & Greg S - 20:51
    3 - Carol C & Dave C - 21:05
4 - David T & Campbell - DNF (David didnae feel so good! - hope you are better David)

AL also had a spin and did a 15:59.

    £27 collected.

good course today,as usual climb up the crow was hard. We had about a mile on the flat then up the climb with the long steady climb
was strugalling to keep heart rate down, got coght by ben at the top. was using my new tt water bottle so has a wee drink at the top, put it back hit a bump and lost it, big decision £10 for new one or ten seconds to stop, kept going. The decent was terifing on a tt bike, i hit 40mph on the way down, not that i was looking at the time! The flat was a good run with a gentle tail wind at points cruising at 30 od mph.The course was only 24.5 miles so got a bit misjudged and could have put more out for the last few miles.I ended on 1hr 10.45 which was good enough for 14th! I am pleased as #### considering the caliber of the other riders.

Guys and Girls, as winners in 2011 and runners up in 2012, it would be great to see a big turn out from JWCC to see what we can do in the 2013 Georgetown Cup. Don't forget the Georgetown Pie, which was won by the Johnstone Shielas in 2012.

This years Georgetown Cup takes place on Saturday 7th September and will be in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Charity..

It would be great to see all the clubs sending out a team this year- it's a great event and the 'inter club' aspect makes it a lot of fun. Last year it was host club Glasgow Couriers who took the honours but we already have a massive entry from bronze medalists Fullarton Whs along with the largest club entry in event history from Glasgow Green CC.

Dont forget , the format remains the same - enter as many as you like and its the fastest 8 from each club on the day that makes up the teams time.

Last year also saw a closely contested battle for the coveted Georgetown Pie - the defending champions from 2011 , Walkers CC, felt sure they had it in the bag - even bringing along their own knife to share out the spoils- but they hadn't counted on everyones favourite team - The Johnstone Sheilas , who dug extra deep and pulled out an abysmal performance to lift the award.

Once again we will be holding the Flying Scot Rally - so dig out your vintage bikes and bring them along for the display. Martin Wilson took the prize for fastest Flying Scot last year and will hopefully defend his title but rumours are circulating that big George McCarter is intending to mount a challenge....

Last year we raised a whopping 1500 for Accord Hospice so lets see if we can match that total this year and have a bit of fun while we are at it!

Did the Billy Warnock E123 today at Falkirk. Flat course BUT strong crosswinds. 8 laps of about 10 miles. A very high powered break left the bunch early doors. The crosswind sections on each lap I just don't want to report on as it was too painful to remember. The rest of the race was just plain eyeballs out. After 45 miles we had a 20 min downpour of freezing rain which was not good. Lap 7 the bunch split into a few echelons in the crosswind, after much grovelling in the gutter the bunch was together for the small drag at the end of each lap. However moi got pumped when my body just gave up on me, the crosswind section being the Real culprit. Took decision to not go round final lap as I was beyond the line of no pain no gain. So 70 great miles of intense effort, I'm sure it will do me good one day !?
Think I'll stick to Arran challenges, its so much better than crosswind grovels

The change of course did not help but won't use that as an excuse. The ' neutralised' section was certainly chaotic and it distracted me from my game plan of starting near the front ( turns out everyone had the same idea) . This meant I was struggling to make up ground on the climb. Having not been able to look at a profile I just didn't pace myself well going up to the village and when the bunch turned the corner I was duly pumped. Mental note to myself - make sure you are fresh going into the next race. Still learning and hoping to s better next time out

What can one say was looking forward to this flat course all day only to find that due to road works it was moved to the Moscow circuit
So to the race well not even the race as it was a bonkers ride to the star 30 mph slow Dow speed up slow down my legs were done and we hadn't started
The race started and as usual I was lurking at the back legs were ok not good (Arran ) was fine until there was a we pull through the village it caught in too big a gear so lost a wheel tried to get back on but failed past Iain and Colin and just mashed my way round on my own finished just before dark o clock recon must have been at least 10 mins down
Getting fitter only problem season is nearly over there's always next year

Great to see Chung, Richard and Hugh supporting Joansin tonight!

Interesting race tonight. As Billy says we're all looking forward to the two roundabouts on a sunny, dry and relatively calm evening but roadworks meant doing 6 laps of the Moscow circuit. Neutralised zone was anything but neutralised. I clocked over 40 kph from Fenwick to the right hand turn onto the circuit. First lap was hard. Pace was very strong. I dropped from the front end of the bunch to further back for Laps 2, 3 and 4 before starting to move towards the front again. Laps were hectic between the road surface, parked cars and oncoming traffic. Found myself too far forward on lap 5 and though I had gubbed myself. Final sprint at the finish was packed and chaotic. Having to use breaks less than 50 metres from the line! Great fun. No crashes. Good turn out on and off the circuit from JWCC!

Ramsay reacted to P McDonald in ARRAN AGAIN - SAT 3RD AUGUST
Well it was done, there are 2 new inductees to the Arran Circuit roll of honour, chapeau Billy and Ross!
Started out as Keystone Cops, Ross texted me at 5.30am to say he had a puncture, so we left Lochwinnoch about 6am and rode into the stronger than expected headwind, so just getting to the ferry was a 'challenge'.
Then Ross pedal unwound itself outside the ticket office and we found it on the path.
Then Billy came walking along with a back wheel puncture and a glass rip ruined tyre - we borrowed scissors on the boat and shored up the tyre with inner tube enough to do the run.
BUT the coup de gras was surely Colin. He gave Billy a lift down and although Billy walked along and caught the ferry Colin managed to ride along as we were parting and the ferry guys would not wait !! Something about his car clock being wrong !? HAMMOCK AWARD MATERIAL.

Anyway, me, Billy, Ross and David T set out and whilst David was dieseling along he succumbed to back pain and headed over the string. Meantime Ross had to stop and tighten his pedal a couple of times as well as losing the big ring due to pathetic bike maintenance for the last 10 miles.

Billy and I totally cruised it with no issues whatsoever.

Arrived back at ferry with a record 12 minutes or so to spare.

Magnifique. Might propose another date if there is enough interest before end of season for the wannabees Iain, Colin and Andy.
