Ramsay reacted to Mark O in Clubrooms - Thread 2
Big thanks to all those that came along yesterday evening and lent a hand. Real good progress made. I'll attend to the final gloss work over the next few weeks and final touch ups once that slacker by the name of McGinty finishes the tiling.
To all intents and purposes the clubrooms are ready for use for turbo/roller sessions, circuit training etc. The facilities are there for the use of the members, so use them but have a care and look after them. Treat them with a little respect and leave them as you find them. If anything does need attending to post up or get in touch with Ian or myself.
Thanks again
Mark

Ramsay reacted to chung in POSSIBLE NEW CLUB KIT DESIGN
To All members,
A report on the latest regarding this endeavour.
After contacting our potential school & colleges to invite the students to participate in our competition, we have only received disappointing numbers who express interest in submitting their design. Therefore, we had to cancel the process and as it stands we have no "new design" of our cycling kit.
I'm extremely disappointed at the lack of interest as I thought this would have been a great opportunity for young students to showcase their design talent in a real life project.............. then again maybe I was wrong!
I'm not sure what our next step is regarding this issue, hopefully if I can attend the next committee meeting then I can raise this matter for further discussion.
In the meantime, can I again thank Tom Hill for his support & Richard Montegue for helping me draft the poster and design brief.
Thanks
Chung

Ramsay reacted to Mark O in JWCC AGM - 15th Nov 2013
Excluding those who have already posted their intention to come along or their apologies for not being able to make it, perhaps a timely reminder to all that this is your opportunity to get involved, air your views and influence the direction in which your club is run for the benefit of you, the members.
This is definitely not the preserve of those who have been or are currently involved in the club's management or those who regularly post their views on these boards. Hopefully we'll see a good turn out from across the whole club on Friday.

Ramsay reacted in WOSCA Road Race
Just a heads up that we will be running a race in either June or September
It's expected that there will be 15 races in the series and again clubs that run races riders will get entry
So to run the race we need lot of volunteers so early bump
Note those who want to race in it can provided we get enough volunteers

Ramsay reacted to ginty001 in CLUBROOMS
Okay folks,
Greig will meet Paul McD, Darryl and MarkO at the clubrooms at 8am on Saturday, that leaves myself , Paul C, Kenny B and Ramsay for Monday night.
With a couple of more painting days to follow, hopefully we can get the clubrooms fresh and functional for all...
cheers

Ramsay got a reaction from ginty001 in Hr monitors
Charlie,
If you are going to get a Garmin, as Richard says, a 500 with HR and Cadence is a good deal. However, could I suggest that you speak to our club sponsors Dooleys, as I got a really good deal on mine there last year.

Ramsay reacted to DavieB in Cross training
Quality!
Going to look at my choice of tyres as mine seem to be a lot skinnier than most on the grid but think for next year the holy grail is tubs.
It was a race of 3 sections -
> a truly shocking start and 1st lap (my worst yet);
> not a bad middle section when I was happy launching into suicide descents and forcing passes into corners;
> latter section couldn't stop falling off which resulted in me riding like a jessie at each technical section (which didn't do much in terms of stopping me falling off) before shipping my chain twice in last lap.
Overall I was relieved to find I wasn't last!
Seen Big Al's posts so hopefully see some more of the JWCC in the vets and seniors events soon - highly recommended. I'm in for Balloch next week.

Ramsay reacted to Big Al in The Daily Grind: Training Blog
I'm going to attempt a training blog for the next year. If you liked my last blog you might enjoy this. It'll be boring at times but that's the nature of The Grind. Some may be 'inspired', others may wince, but there should be some fun and laughs along the way

Really good do last night. The band kept everyone right with the steps, the buffet was good, and there were prizes too! What more could anyone need.
Thanks to Greig, Ramsay, Andy and Elaine for all their work on the night, and to the rest of the committee for giving up their own time to make the club work.

Ramsay reacted to iain couttie in tour of the trossacs
Well guys
Not my best of days, the bug was still there, the hill climb was ok, but after that my heart rate would not rise and there fore my speed seemd to suffer.
it was an unususal distance to ride 28.5 miles, at half way it was dificult to decide how hard to push.Darrls storey of crashing and tube feeding was at the back of my head on the decent.
All said and done I am back in one piece. Time was 1hour 24 min(not good) place 47th out of 67.
Billy you have yor work cut out to make me a winning machine!

Ramsay reacted to Richard in Confined Hill Climb Champs 2013 - Sunday 6th October
Massive thanks to Ramsay, Kenny, Martin, Elaine, and everyone else who helped out this morning. Really well done for securing the road closure - it's a better event for having the kids there, too. Did someone sweep the leaves from the road in the middle section of the climb? It looked like a brush had been put to good use. If that was you, cheers! The roadside support was appreciated as well.
Some of the adults really dug deep in the last 100 yards. Well done to all of you, and special congratulations to Fergus, Elaine and Lewis.

Ramsay got a reaction from Richard in Confined Hill Climb Champs 2013 - Sunday 6th October
Big thanks to Renfrewshire Council for granting us a road closure for Sunday's event. This means that all the Jets can race.
We will need a couple of marshalls when the closure is in place.
Looking forward to it.
