Mark O
Flat and fast Sunday was last Sunday. Suggesting a run to Aberfoyle. Proposed route - Miller St., Bridge, Bearsden, Strathblane, Kilearn, Balfron, A811,Buchlyvie, Arnprior, Thornhill, Port Montieth and Aberfoyle. Cafe stop in Aberfoyle with fingers crossed for al fresco coffees etc. Return via Gartmore and Drymen. If time pressured to get home to watch Olympics then as brisk run down the A81 before cutting across for Drymen. Usual depart at 09.00 from Miller Street with meet up with others at the bridge. Any takers? M

Mark O
Duncan, sometime between 2 and 3 at a guess. Usual variables apply. Mechanicals, cafe stop, number of bodies and how long you spend at the front towing us along. M

2023 Subscriptions Tom Hill Posted July 29, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted July 29, 2012 Great run today. I just caught a few spots of rain one mile out from home. Chain gang from the top of Haylie Brae was a blast. Checked the stats on my Garmin - average speed for the 5 miles from the top Haylie down into Kilbirnie 30.6mph!! Guest
Impressive. How long did it take to get from Aberfoyle to Largs?
DavieB
At those type of speeds about 2 hours should cover it, allowing for a few red lights

2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted July 29, 2012 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted July 29, 2012 I've to agree, a smashing ride. Funny how we all were thinking the same thing at the bridge: "wish we were heading for the Bagel basket" Sometimes the coast is just what you need Here's the Garmin data: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/204353037
Committee Alan McLean Posted July 29, 2012 Committee Report Share Posted July 29, 2012 And top marks to whoever named the run into Kilbirnie "Dirk Hofman Motorhomes Sprint" on Strava. Made me laugh. Top three spots now occupied by the blue and yellow train
