    Farewell

So sorry to hear this Davie but ,as Elaine said, control what you can and I'm glad to see the bike will be a part of that. I know one of your great heroes is a cancer survivor (šŸ¤„) and sometime bike rider and I hope you follow in his footsteps ! I have attached a few photos. Good times. The first trip to Girona and that amazing apartment. Bringing the ear plugs when you and I were sharing at Nove Colli and you asked if you could have a set ! The earthquake ! Billy, Coutie and I trying to drink your booze and mess up your wee flat in Gazost before heading back to the hotel. Top of the Toumalet in classic DavieB mismatch kit. Nevermind the dry January, I will raise a wee glass of your favourite tipple ( you know I'm not talking about High 5 right ?) and drink to you making some more memories. All the best with the treatment Davie and maybe I'll get a look at the ebike later in the year.

I agree with Alan - turns out all I am interested in is where I am on the table ! Its not often pleasant reading howeveršŸ˜§ The age group tables are better though.
  4. https://www.strava.com/activities/1135227572 I rode this route after doing the NC500. I don't remember much about it other than it was a headwind and wet! I didn't stay on the Great Glen route out of Inverness. Went down the east side of Loch Ness on the road. That was a big climb. Looks like I was then on a variant of the route all the way down. Stuck to the east at Loch Oich. I have ridden Invergarry - Fort Augustus on the west side and seem to remember that involved a good climb out of Invergarry. From Laggan on down it was good going , fatigue and weather notwithstanding - check my coupon ! All good fun but obviously do it in the other direction. Something to look forward to after the time of cholera !
  5. Ok - clearly been in England too long - weather obviously not suitable for a big one tmw. Hopefully see you at the weekend.
  6. Am in Glasgow tmw Charlie - you donā€™t fancy a crack at the Loch Awe route ?
  7. Amazing memories you young fellas have Mr Oā€™Neil ! https://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/2653012198 It is long Charlie - even with 10 miles off for the ferries (and about 10000ft Marco ). You could go straight up the main road to Inveraray but I really wouldnā€™t recommend it. Get an early ferry and enjoy it ! Or do what Richard of Montague and I did and ride out to Portavadie over the Rest first šŸ˜³
  8. Yeah thatā€™s the loop we did a few years ago Charlie ( with Marco and Al Fox ). Would be an impressive day out to do the lot !
  9. Hope you are taking Loch Awe route from Lochgilphead Charlie - do not take the then main road ! Head along the track beside the Crinan canal at Ardrishaig. Keep on canal path to Bellanoch then cross canal on B8025, Go through Kilmartin ( good cafe ) and take a right after Kilmartin heading for Ford. Beautiful quiet road along Scotlandā€™s longest freshwater loch, Follow loch Awe and head for Inveraray. Stunning route and plenty of history - look out for Dunnadd ( ancient capital of Dalriada) and the burial mounds at Kilmartin - would love to join you.
  10. All is forgiven Andy. - ā€œHow can I leave you again?ā€
  11. Yeah, well done us - always better to just get out. Nice route Davie and glad Chung made the effort to meet up in Stewarton. Will catch up with the rain dodgers another time !
  12. Chung and I are meeting at Eastwood Toll at 9. We are planning a day out heading Eaglesham , Strathaven and on into Ayrshire. Welcome to join us for part route.
  13. Well done guys - I saw the photo of you at the start and was glad I called off! Great achievement.
