Gerard Deeley reacted to AlanT in Corona virus update
Aaaaand the good news is that the committee is considering a reduced programme of confined events starting from mid July, subject to guidance from SC/BC. The current view from that level is that club events won't be sanctioned until August. So, we can't say for certain right now when, or even if, a programme will take place, but the general principle will be that we will attempt to run the league of 10, the chocolate series, and the hilly TT series in a reduced format. Turn up, race go home. No holders. Results will be published when the timekeeper uploads them. Further updates to follow when more info becomes available.

This is where I will be taking all of mine now. I did try repairing a whole load a while back and it did not work out.

So for anyone wondering where Iain's photo was, it's Corsliehill Road: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@55.8903064,-4.5710686,128m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en&authuser=0

Gerard Deeley reacted to gregbalden in The Big Summer BBQ - 16 August 2020
Good evening all.
We, the Johnstone Wheelers, are in the very fortunate position to be one of the only clubs in Scotland to have a purpose built clubroom, owned and operated solely by us!
So, why aren't we using this MORE?
I'm proposing we hold a big Summer BBQ at the clubhouse on the 16 Aug 2020 to round of the summer. This is open to all, members, family and children. A small fee would be payed in order to buy food and possibly some soft drinks. If you want a few beers BYOB. A short turbo challenge and a raffle would also be held.
This event would follow a short full club run.
So, the question is, who's in? And who's interested?

Looking out for all of the magnificent Wheelers to join the Intermediate group.
0930 at the clubrooms, track down to Kilbirnie, Auchengree road, Dalry and onto the cafe at Eglington Country Park. A straightforward return with a tailwind along Lochlibo to Lugton and on to Howwood.
Around 45 miles, plus your commute to the clubrooms at a pace to suit everyone.

Gerard Deeley reacted to AlanT in Confined Events 2020
I have attached the schedule of confined events ( and some open ones) for the coming season. Confined event awards are open to all club members, and are an excellent way to introduce new riders to the mysteries and dark arts of Time Trialing.
This year, I have introduced 2 new courses for the League of 10. One is the Hilly course, and the other the restricted gear course at Gateside. These will be one of events within the league of 10, which will be mostly on the Westferry, as normal.
If you want to give TT-ing a shot, these are the events to try.
