Robbie out sprinted me at the top of the Clune. Do we get double points for sprinting at the top?

I just liked the mud!
Good night with the group dwindling to four at the bottom of the Clune before dwindling further as I watched the rest disappear up the Clune. Think it was Robbie from Ian.
Marc and I had a Sagan / Cavendish moment on the Inter sprint ( but much faster obviously!) with Robbie taking that from me with an angrily mutterig Marc in 3rd - sorry again!
Then another mud fest but this time in the rain too! before the final sprint. No idea of places - I crossed the lone first but someone else will need to let Iain know the scores on the doors for 2nd and 3rd.
The scourge of the surge!

Billy likes accelerating. Its the top speed he needs to work on And he doesn't half exaggerate. Said to him a million times.
Anyhow I guess we all surge to get off the front as soon as possible and out of the wind but when you get in a squad that stays smooth it's such a joy. Like poetry in motion. Totally worth the extra effort of passing the lead rider slowly and smoothly...

Aye enjoyed that tonight, to be fair to everyone I think the wind plays a part with people trying to get out of it quicker causing surges.
Think that's the first sprint I've ever won 😆
Cheers men

robster82 reacted to BoydJohnston in Five Ferries Tuesday 25th July
A good day out, but not quite what was planned. Four of us pushed hard to get up to Lochranza in time for the ferry, only to find that the ferry had broken down and a replacement was going to take some time to get there (if it ever did), so we decided to carry on round Arran. We stopped at Shiskine Golf Club for a good lunch and some relief from the southerly breeze, before heading back round to Brodick.
The one good point was that Calmac took our complaint on board - they should not have sold us Five Ferries tickets at Ardrossan because the Lochranza ferry had broken down the previous day - since they refunded the tickets and gave us complimentary tickets to get back to Ardrossan, which paid for a beer at Brodick golf club before we left the island.

Did it in 30 seconds tonight, not quite smashing it, more of a little chip off the top.

DA17™©
Anyone for tennis on SaturDAy 5th August ? Robbie and Jan - I was out doing specific DA domestique training today in case you want to have a go at immortality. 75 miles and 2400m climbing. Got way too hot though by 11am.
And I bet McBride with his usual 'takes me a whole 2.5 weeks to get peak form again' after a lay off is flying
And of course Alex who unfortunately missed the golden day at the last minute last year when he was in flying form,
And of course one of the original pioneers of the SA way back about 6 years ago, Dr McLean who was also flying last time I saw him,
And of course anyone else who is eminently capable of either a DA or SA, Jesse (could be first female SA or DA), Colin, Andy, et al

Was a good day out in sunny N.Ayrshire, thanks DavieB, an incredible number of new roads/lanes/tracks weaving through the countryside and enough 'merde' (quote Billy) to require a thorough bike clean later on. We eventually appeared out on Stevenston main street and headed north up the coast road. Outside table at BB in Largs enjoying the sun and chat before an assault of Haylie and charge to Kilbirnie then onwards home.
A great variety of rides posted today on JWCC Strava... a busy day out and well done Darryl and DavidC on their 2 day epic.

Very wet and cold at the start and wearing summer kit so when the rain got worse as we were heading to the Bowfield we ended up following the extreme weather protocol (as it is allowed under UCI rules it is also allowed for Thursday Night rules too!) and opted to do a different more sheltered route with official sprint and kom points changed.
A close battle for all three and the finish line jury declared the overall result a tie with 8 points each
Overall standings
Alan making a late charge and is now up to 5th place, Jess in 4th but now closing in on Ian in 3rd. It's pretty close from 2nd to 9th with only 20 points seperating. A 71 point lead for me in 1st place though - i think it is quite evident i dont have much better to do on a Thursday evening other than ride my bike whereas the rest of you have better social lives!
