Hello George Donnelly, Paul Leavy, Iain Carvill, Glen Irving, Alex McLean & Scott Johnstone.
Gents, accomodation balance now needs paid for Flanders, total cost is only £73 per person. (approx £12 will be returned after gas/elec paid, and no damage!)
Please pay into account 00092786, sort code 11-09-35, by 15th Feb, so I can pay the accomodation.
Iain Carvill, can you pass these details to your brother-in-law Jon.
Thanks,
Andy.

PaulL got a reaction from Cedric in Callendar Park Cyclo-Cross - SCX2
A great day out in Callendar, counted 6 wheelers and numerous Jets(Jet Jamie took 2nd place??) very techincal course with lots of mud and off camber. Big Kudos to John for his first cross race on the wrong tyres/shoes and never having watched a cross race... true wheelers preparation Cedric also made a return to cross and started of really strong in the top 10 in the first lap but as the course degraded his tyres grip let him down and he struggled to stay upright at his pace, a bike change at the last few laps saw him return to form and take back a stack of places, I predict great things from Zed! Good to see Sam riding the Seniors as well. In the V40 Davie B looked real good and never saw him all race, Dave W passed me a few laps in and never saw him again as I suffered from Berlin Belly(a real disease).... worst result for me since I started cross but had a blast and managed to stay mostly upright. I might have to start riding my bike in between races Top day with a lot of laughs

Hi All
The Don Smith Memorial Ride 2019 is now live on BC
Sunday (3rd of March) sees the annual Don Smith Memorial Ride based at Lochbarr Services in Lochwinnoch
You will be able to enter via the British Cycling website HERE
Please let me know ASAP if planning to enter as require to let caterers know numbers attending
For those who are new to the event, there are three rides available to participate in:
Short Route - http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/368004877
Medium Route - http://www.mapmyride.com/gb/lochwinnoch-sct/jwcc-don-smith-45mile-ride-2012-route-72414462
Long Route - http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/1002950791
Entry fee is £10 for Adults and £7 for U16s
Event HQ, Lochbarr Services, Newton Of Barr, Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, PA12 4JB
Are you able to assist?
Route checking - Each of the routes requires to be checked against the Risk Assessment (which has been done) prior to the event, This would either be Friday, Saturday or early Sunday morning. Note that this can be broken into segments and spread around a number of volunteers rather than one person checking the whole route(s). We're generally looking for roadworks / closures / really obvious issues with quality of roads as riders are expected to follow the rules of the road and any official diversions in the case of roadworks, etc...
Sign On Desk - Smiling and taking people's money as they register for the event. Required from 8:30am until latest 10:30am (Note that this would not preclude your from riding). We just need a few club members willing to help before everyone sets off.
As ever looking for volunteers. If you can help post up or pm us...
Cheers
Paul, David and Eric

American Flyers is the greatest movie ever made!
2 seconds another classic, this ones for you Chung lots of bikey mechanicy talk(but might be a bit Artsey for you West of Scotland folks)
Not one for the Vegans, 6 part documentary Slaying the Badger but what a story(although Lemond is full of ****)
and lastly probably the most realistic cycling movie ever!

You can pretty much find anything on youtube.
I particularly like the Mitchelton-scott videos. They do a wee video on every stage (I recently went back and watched all the giro and Veulta ones).

PaulL reacted to Tom Hill in Sunday 20th January
I went up Old Largs road to run round Greenock Cut this morning; perhaps not one of my better ideas. I confirm that running on snow covered ground, while gentle underfoot, is very tiring!
The roads were mostly clear but many slushy areas and some longer covered stretches.
You might want to stick to the coast.

PaulL reacted to DavieB in Sunday 20th January
Alan not original poster but it is a main bunch not a training run and bunch rules apply and I wouldn't wish a solo coast run on anybody. If push comes to shove you could always rejoin the coast at some point i.e off the whin. Up to you but faster and longer is a relative term and should not be co-opted to exclude people especially not people who have been part of main bunch previously and maybe coming back to a bit of fitness, or actually ride a winter bike as opposed to full carbon with kid on mudguards.
Let the moaning commence.

PaulL reacted to Dave C in Sunday 6th Jan :Eglington Country Park
The girls outnumbered the boys here with five at the starting line...Elaine, Mia, Linda, Carol C and newbie Fiona with Charlie, Dave , Boyd and Andrew leaving Miller St.
Carol and Boyd peeled off at Howwood with the remaining seven heading up Bowfield hill into heavy mist/fog which was with us most of the way to Eglington Park
for the coffee stop. Cleared up a bit on way home via Blair road, MOD road and through Beith to cycle track. Thanks for the good company guys and girls.
