Bit of an embarrassing moment for me today at Dooleys. Went in to buy some gel bars and asked for usual jwcc discount to be told ithat Dooleys no longer sponsor us. Have I missed a post .

i was lying in bed thinking that i am going to miss Billys turbo session tonight.I then got to thinking, why dont we do our own training dvd. Most of my get rich ideas dont work because someone brighter has worked out why it wont work, however because i wont get rich my self, it will work!

Most of the dvd,s out there are relativley boring to do, the sufferfest series is ok in some respects. The main problem is that all efforts are perceived, I understand why, however when you are learning you have no idea what heart rate wats ect that anyone else does.

My first thought was to have some club members doing a session that billy had devised and having a wide variety of rider fitness to discuss there cadence heart rate ect.

This soon developed into a cross between a regular session and sufferfest video. We should do a mock up of our reliabilaty rides.Billy could devise a session around the rout of each one.Again each rider could reveal there speed power heart rate ect. We could even have rider s paired to do two up sessions down the georgetown, front rider 1 min on more resistance then swap second rider on more resistance. We could have head wind tail wind, even rain! but i recon thats going to far.

Now the club has a bit of cash flow, this might be a way of making it work better long term.

The expansion of this concept is to have other clubs do the same with there reliability rides,we franchise/take a cut of there video and it expands out from there. We should manage to get a tenner a video and once its made it just sells,we have all the expertese that we need to get this of the ground within the club members. We would be able to supply LBS,evans and chain reaction type shops. They would be persuaded to sell by the fact they are supporting local bike clubs to make money for there coffers.

In five years we might be the only club with its own veladrome.

I have to admit it sounded better in my head than on paper.

    good night

interesting run for me today, winter wheel was broken so used summer wheel, the only downside was i only had 2 gears, both chainrings at the front and small cog at the back, i managed to largs then took the short cut up the healy. It is the slowest ascent i have done, managed at an average cadence of 30 to 40 i did have to stand up.

Thanks to those that were understanding and let me take short turns at the front. My only saving grace was that i didnt have to ride the front with paul.

    Hope to be out tomorrow

Al described well enough the conditions, i found the rolling hills harder to ride as you coudnt get up the same speed to roll up the other side due to side winds which were quite strong at times. Ridden in worse so cant realy complain.Good to get the first tt under the belt.

paul, why make life hard, the description is two laps between the ferries, you have not specified which ferry.I rekon more would be up for it if it was between the last ferry of the night and first ferry of the morning.this would allow for a gentle preamble around the island a few beers a sleep on the beach and home sharp in the morning.to make this version worthy you could cycle all the way home.

All those more interested in version B please specify.

On the very interesting topic of healy v WK I can add that Largs to Lochwinnoch is 45 mins give or take dependent on wind. So Largs to Kilbirnie Tesco would be 35 mins.
In conclusion the difference is described by the formula E=MC2 modified by dividing by the 4th root of Pi.
    The answer is 20 mins.

    Well guys

Not my best of days, the bug was still there, the hill climb was ok, but after that my heart rate would not rise and there fore my speed seemd to suffer.
it was an unususal distance to ride 28.5 miles, at half way it was dificult to decide how hard to push.Darrls storey of crashing and tube feeding was at the back of my head on the decent.
All said and done I am back in one piece. Time was 1hour 24 min(not good) place 47th out of 67.
Billy you have yor work cut out to make me a winning machine!

good course today,as usual climb up the crow was hard. We had about a mile on the flat then up the climb with the long steady climb
was strugalling to keep heart rate down, got coght by ben at the top. was using my new tt water bottle so has a wee drink at the top, put it back hit a bump and lost it, big decision £10 for new one or ten seconds to stop, kept going. The decent was terifing on a tt bike, i hit 40mph on the way down, not that i was looking at the time! The flat was a good run with a gentle tail wind at points cruising at 30 od mph.The course was only 24.5 miles so got a bit misjudged and could have put more out for the last few miles.I ended on 1hr 10.45 which was good enough for 14th! I am pleased as #### considering the caliber of the other riders.
