Hi
I have hot-wired my monies and joined the Joansin!
I am hoping to get out with the main bunch but reading on the forum there are some characters my mum wouldn't be happy with me mixing with!
I have also seen a thing called "Double Arran" would like to do this but have already done the Triple Arran so could just pull you guys round?
Thanks
J. Esus
(It's good to be back )

A triple Arran isnt so impressive when you can walk on water and not bother with the ferry timetables

I will bow out. Will be in the Alps/Pyrenees one way or the other anyway. Sportives will never make you happy. You will always finish behind me (Billy, Charlie, Darryl ?) . Learn to enjoy going slowly. To travel hopefully is better than to arrive.

al yuille reacted to George in Sunday 16 August - Loch Katrine
Yip. Great day out, bathed in sunshine to the extent that I have tiger stripes on my baldy dome
Tough day for me: popped for the first time after about 50 miles then had another bad patch at the foot of Dukes Pass. Took a Stephen Roche-La Plagne 87 effort to reel in & pass Charlie Wegelius before the top.
Then spent the entire ride home hanging on for dear life as Alan & Iain churned into the headwind.
Thanks for the wheels, guys

First time round Loch Katrine. Saw it at its best. Simply beautiful countryside and now understand why Al Yuille raves on about it. Also another ton + done. Pretty exhausted but in a good way

Touche George - and you will finish one place higher !

al yuille reacted to Darryl Gunson in 2016 Alps/Pyrenees
All and Al especially
I like Paul's idea because it gives a focus for getting fit and it is at a time when many of the tour cols will still have snow/ bad weather. I know the Mortirolo can also have bad weather at this time of year, but we won't be riding it everyday, compared with riding Tour cols for a week.
However, I am still dead keen to go to France. I have a plan and intend to go late August or September for precisely the sort of thing Al suggests. I would have gone this year but for a family event. Anyone will be welcome to join me. I realise not everyone will be able to squeeze two trips in, but for those that can, why not?
