It will definatey be Sunday I am out as I am looking after Mollie dog on Saturday.
Anybody from the friendliest most inclusive club in Miller St, Johnstone is welcome...
Hi Davie,
I only post this run because I was TOLD to do so by Charlie!
I saw your post & was happy to go on your run initially!
I'm going to ask moderator to lock this thread & divert everyone to your post, but can you confirm the start time for it though!
THIS RUN IS NO LONGER ON!
Cheers

Hi All,
What with the Drum-up very much likely to be next Sunday rather than this now & with promise to Charlie that I would post a run, so I propose a run this Sunday UNLESS Geoff Smith & Iain L makes a last minute re-instatement.
The weather forecast seems to be decent, therefore how about another daring venture over the dark side then :-)
How about:
Clubroom 9am - Bridge 9.40am - Strathblane - Lennoxtown - Kilsyth - Tak - Carron Valley - Fintry - CROW - Clachen of Campsies - Strathblane again - Milgarnvie - Bridge then home
Looking for a show of hands please!
Cheers

Cracking ride today. Glen Fruin beautiful this time of year. In fact beautiful all year. Paul L hope you got back home safely & are well
Cracker day indeed!
Charlie asked me to post a run for next Sunday in his absence, but I just remembered it's meant to be Geoff Smith's Drum-up next Sunday if weather is decent, so I'll hold on from posting until I get confirmation if it's a go or not!
Watch for update please!

Nice ride today with Gerard & Chung. 2 cafe stops no less. Only blot was a whining noise coming from Chung”s bottom bracket. Now if was me would have fully accepted that Total lack of maintenance & my fault but when it’s the guru of bike maintenance the Mary Berry of bike perfection well dose that not call for a full stewards enquiry and may I suggest might even qualify for a hammock award
Charlie, I want my money back that I paid you to keep quiet!
I think it’s my knees rather than my bike really, so it doesn’t count! :-)
Thanks for the run & company today guys!
Weather turned out a lot better than forecast!

Paul Mc, David C, Eric, Davie B, Tom H, Iain Carvill, George and myself
If you don't register you won't get entry... we still may not get entry
Thanks Paul, so you put your registration in but are not 100% guarantee an entry, is it like a lottery system? The event must be very over subscribe then ........ similar to Ride London?
Will watch this thread with interest!

Cool about Spain etc but can we keep thread to the title Amstel Gold 2019... a new post about Spain would be cool as I would be interested and it would make things less confusing. We have 7 signed up so if we get entry Amstel Gold 2019 will be happening.
Paul, who’s going so far?
Any cobbles in AG?

Hello,
Weather forecast for Sunday seems to be ok-ish at the moment, so planning on a run regardless!
Tempted to cross the Bridge again, but 2 Sundays in a row might just be a bit too much for some :-)
So, 9am club room start, Largs via Dalry down the Fairlie, BB then back via Brisbane Glen then, eh!
Would be great to have some company :-)
Cheers

Right then, just got latest intel from my sources (Agent Montague, AKA TT Fixed)
The date for the Drum-Up is
Sunday 11th NOVEMBER - time tbc
However, due to previous editions when weather wasn’t exactly ideal, therefore Geoff have proposed a final confirmation of the go ahead of this will be the Tuesday/Wednesday before the Sunday.
If indeed the forecast on the 11th is poor, then the following Sunday 18th will be the alternative, again confirmation on the Tuesday/Wednesday before also!
So, pencil these dates in & watch this space for if/when I have any updates!
Thanks for reading
Cheers

Hi All,
It's that time of the year again, folks - yes, the much anticipated Drum-up on the shores of Loch Eck, where everyone pretends to be a contender on master chef, but in reality, there is only ONE - our own Gerard D
I have been asked by a few as to if/when this is on!
Obviously it's Geoff & Linda Smith & Iain Lochrane's gig, so I need to find out the details first before confirming. But I would imagine it'll be the coming next Sundays before November ........
As soon as I have confirmation, I will post up to let youse know & you can send of any dietary request to Gerard so he can be well "prepared" .................. I heard lobsters are great for BBQ

Where was the cafe stop ?
Iain, it’s the same one we always go to in Kilcreggan, but they’ve actually built this “sitting patio/platform” where one of the parking space use to be, it’s great sitting outside & you’re high up as well looking over the water!
:-)

Cracking run today with sunshine too!
”Eleven” riders came out to play today - AlanT, Alex, Colin Sales (new member), Gerard, Glen, Iain Couttie, Iain C, Jaki, Tom, Marty & myself formed an orderly Bunch all the way to Kilcreggan with a cafe stop sitting OUTSIDE ...... in October enjoying the food/beverages & the sun of course!
You should see the size of Iain Couttie’s omelette :-) it was the size of me head ..... but it did look delicious though, it must be because it didn’t took him long to finish it :-)
Opted for the more direct route back after Helensburgh, rather than going up Sinclair Street on the return leg, straight down the coast.
Good that we managed to all stayed together until the Bridge whereupon Marty & I headed home via the Westend of Glasgow.
159km by the time I limped home, I’m goosed but a brilliant day on the bike indeed!
Thanks again everyone for the wheels & company!
Cheers

One more for tomorrow -
Kiwi Wheeler - Martin McDonald, coming out with us again after last Sunday’s soaking Hill Climb :-)
If we’re not at the club room, then get youse at the Bridge!

This looks fun and I have the day off, any idea of the start of the route? Will it be the bridge? Will it be the ferry? Will I have to wait and and see?
Hi G, I would assume 9am start at club room & 9.40-ish meet at bridge, South side!
Can Glen please confirm! :-)

I away this W/e. Can someone post run
In that case, I propose a long overdue tour over the water, hopefully towards the direction of Kilcreggan maybe? ..... depending on who turns up & what the weather is like!
Who’s keen then? Don’t be shy now ......
9am start at the club room or 9.40 for the sleepy heads south side of bridge!
Cheers
