Yes very impressed to see bunch of Jets heading through Gourock, another splendid bunch of 20 or so enjoyed more unseasonal but excellent weather until W Kilbride when it got a bit wet but we were well warmed up by then

Was relegated to the Cs initially but shortly after that i got another email saying i was back in the Bs. First up 50 lap points, pretty uneventful until 9 laps to go where i attacked thinking someone would come with me, but no-one did. Got about a half lap in front and maintained it for a bit but couldnt push on, bell went and managed to get the points at least. Next 25 lap scratch, same story different week - too far back, kept being the wrong side of riders chucking it and pulling out so having to close gaps and eventually i couldnt close it down anymore and just hung off the back of the group about 10 m. Last was 30 lap, tried to make the race hard rather than ride it in such a way that it is only hard for me! It was working ok until 4 laps to go, there was a lull in the pace then an attack which i couldnt respond to quick enough. So end result was nothing but it was a much more enjoyable race at least.

Would have been nice to have won something to justify my place in the Bs, but it wasnt to be.

Torrid night in a fully subscribed combined C/D group. Racing was accompanied by pops, bangs and crackles, and that was just from my knees.
Big crash right in front of me in the sighting lap on the first race, 4 riders down, including young Adam, who went on to ride 2 races with a crushed fork leg (scary). I only lost a pedal and managed to stay upright. The race itself was event free. Took to following a wheel in the second race, a 25 lap points. Didn't contest any of the sprints, but managed to finish in the front third of the bunch but with no points.
The last race was a bit of a disaster, with my legs dying with 10 laps to go, and getting lapped by the bunch 3 laps later. Called it a night right there.

Well done to Jets Sarah Bradford and Greg Henderson, both selected for Scottish Cycling's iDevelop Track Cycling Project. This is a new programme, aimed at identifying and developing riders towards full membership of the Performance Development Programme.
They've both got a very busy winter in front of them. Good luck both, and dig in!

I don't think any of the races crossed the ravine of doom - think it was in spate and salmon were running.

Turned out another cracking day and warm in the sunshine. Good fun all round.

Series takes a couple of weeks break before emerging in more northern climes - will probably do the Kinross leg of the series and the Winter Carnival thingy on the 29th November.

I was working so could only spectate. Lovely fresh weather and dappled sun lit up the classic autumn course.
A great turnout from Jets and the more mature gentleman riders but I only saw Davie entered in the seniors.

The first races did not cross the ravine of doom so the parcours was very fast with surprisingly little mud given the recent rain.

The best vantage point was the top of the big berm, about 25m of 30% muddy grass. I joined the layabouts cheering the very few who could ride to the top and commiserating with the riders who ran out of steam one pedal stroke from safety.

Big chapeau to James who has given up all pretence of attending races as his son's helper and is now a full on cross racer. We are expecting carbon tubs to appear soon. He also had the best clipped in slo-mo fall!

The recent CX events have been stuffed with riders aged from 8 to 80 and are a brilliant day out. It was particularly good to see a field of around 30 women racers with really close action.

Hoping to get a couple more rides before xmas.

Excellent run today. Thanks for company, an amazing 11 JWCC in bunch of 20. With the strong legs on display it looks like we'll be taking LBL by storm

8 x JWCC in the bunch of 10, an excellent effort. Weather was fine with no rain after Langbank. The wind was challenging up the coast mind you. For those out today doing LBL that is an excellent first 75 miles in the kitty

Good turn out of Wheelers and Jets tonight. In the Bs first up 50 lap points, i find myself on the front after about 6 laps and just stay there hoping to go quite hard but still have enough to sprint. Easier said than done, ended up getting a third but after that the race passed me by and didnt get anything else. Next 25 lap scratch, was trying hard to keep a good position and was managing this ok until about 10 laps to go when i went from about 7th wheel to 20 odd over what seemed like the course of a lap.  Tried hard to move up with about 4 laps to go made ok progress but didnt have the second kick when it mattered. Last race was another 25 lap scratch, wrong side of a split fought hard to get back on but couldnt manage it eventually chucked it with a few laps remaining.

Yes Alex it's really a winter bike job. Of course it's a convenient excuse to sit at the back all day if you can't sort out muddies

Slightly different format tonight with a womens group added, i think that was the 2nd biggest group of the night so good to see it being successful from the start.

In the Bs first up was a 50 lap points went off with the front with a couple of others after 35 laps unfortunately they sat up after about half a lap and found myself off the front and ended up getting caught before the line on the sprint then just hanging on for the rest. Another good showing from Danny with him taking the win, makes it look easy. Next up a couple of 25 lap scratches. My legs felt pretty good, however same story as last week - mentally i wasnt at the races, too cautious and overthinking things. Although in saying that the last scratch race had some of the worst riding ive seen all year so there was plenty to be cautious about! Not sure how i'll gain more confidence other than more racing - if only the Pactimo club shop did Keirin gear

    Fun night.

First up was a 60 lap points, instead of being sensible i went for the first sprint but dug a bit too deep and after that was hanging on and suffering. Next was a 30 lap scratch, race just passed me by. Final 30 lap scratch, concentrated harder to maintain a good position and the pace felt quite comfortable (i dont know if this was because of positioning or because it was slower). Followed an attack with 12 laps to go, we got caught with 8 left. Managed to recover a bit and was in a good position as the sprint started with 2 to go bell went and into the corner about to make one final big effort for the night down the backstraight...then someone swung up and i had to swing up to avoid them and that was that.

Fastest night since we started back in the Bs with a full field. Things look like they are picking up numbers wise, quite a few regulars not there yet all the groups looked pretty full.

First up 60 lap points - managed to bridge to a solo attack that went away after the 2nd sprint we worked together for a bit but ended up getting caught before the line on the 3rd sprint and then i was just hanging on. Next two races were 30 lap scratches - legs were feeling ok, shame my head wasnt in the game! I was too cautious so continually lost places and ended up on the back knowing i had to make an effort to move up before the sprint started but again being too cautious and leaving it too late both times. Sort of frustrating!

Lots of mighty Jets and wheelers this week.

Iain and Danny were totally at the sharp end in the B's. Expect promotion soon chaps.

I was up against our very own U16 and U14 Jets in the C/D race and had 90 laps of hard racing. The Jets rode suberbly but spent too long in the wind allowing yours truly to sneak past.  But in a few months they will be screaming past me heading for the B group.

Mr Hazle is now podiuming all the time in the youth group and is another Jet who will soon be riding with and beating the seniors. Well done Adam for hard work and great results.

Good turnout of wheelers and jets tonight.

First up in the Bs was a 60 lap points, about a quarter of the way through i swung up after my half lap turn and realised i was off the front. Upped the pace a little and pushed on but i only maintained the gap so i suspect i was being hung out to dry! At least managed to get one of the sprints before being caught. Sit in to recover for a bit then follow an attack and find myself off the front again. D'oh! We worked together but i was suffering big time and we get caught and i can only roll round rather than contest the final sprint. Next was a 30 lap scratch, hardly did any work at all just followed wheels then attacked with 1.5 to go Danny zooms past on the back straight and i expected a couple of others to follow but we had a gap so managed to hold on for 2nd. Tried the same tactic in the last race but it didnt work this time was poorly positioned when the pace picked up and had too much to do.
