Committee Alan McLean Posted May 1, 2012 Author Committee Report Share Posted May 1, 2012 Alan and PMcD are still not in the JWCC section! Are they trying to hide something? Not trying to hide anything but cannot find our club on strava list. How do we join?
Paul C
Did my first 'strava' run this evening! Even got a KOM award! ALan - I had no trouble finding and joining the Wheelers club - see the link above (rbinnie). Did you type johnstone wheelers into the search and not jwcc? Mark O
Downloaded this app and think I got it working, then again I am such a luddite at these things I'm propbably going to have to carry a 3 year old in a jersey pocket to assist me. Richie Cross
Just downloaded the app. So....as long as I have my phone with me, it'll record stuff without me having to do anything? Am I missing something or should I be able to check the JWCC page on my phone via the app? Can only do it via the we page. Cheers innocent lance

Committee Alan McLean Posted May 2, 2012 Author Committee Report Share Posted May 2, 2012 jann ya wee cheat just won my first sprint now wheres that green jersey greig Hi Jann We would all LOVE to see your heart rate and cadence data while you climbed 2600 metres/hour. Committee Alan McLean Posted May 2, 2012 Author Committee Report Share Posted May 2, 2012 [list=] Richie You only need to ensure GPS is enabled on your phone and start Strava at the beginning of a ride. After that you can forget about it until you finish, then switch off recording. My android phone then automatically uploads the data and starts comparisons. If you have cycled over a "segment" then the app will log a time. You only need to start/stop the app. You could go for a walk with it on just to get an idea. Committee Alan McLean Posted May 6, 2012 Author Committee Report Share Posted May 6, 2012 Hi I still cannot find jwcc in clubs section. I can see Glasgow Nightingales but after that there is only one club beginning with J and it is not us. I have tried searching for jwcc, Johnstone, wheelers etc. Any tips? 2023 Subscriptions Ramsay Posted May 7, 2012 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 7, 2012 Alan, I see you have found it and I see you have been running! Is that the thing you do on your feet? I prefer a comfy wee seat, and so do my knees. A 43.21 for 10km is not bad for a training run. Cheers, R
Committee Alan McLean Posted May 7, 2012 Author Committee Report Share Posted May 7, 2012 yup, Jann showed me how to join jwcc. BTW, Jann, if one was to, for example, accidentally drive up a segment, could that "ride" be deleted? Just wondering....
Administrators Jannza Posted May 7, 2012 Administrators Report Share Posted May 7, 2012 Yes I deleted my drive and Qom. Was just a bit of fun

Committee Alan McLean Posted May 9, 2012 Author Committee Report Share Posted May 9, 2012 Just done 760m of climbing in 1.45 on local hills. Can anyone climb 1000m in two hours? Not a very hard climb rate in the Alps but need to find right route here. Ad hoc rules: Restricted to local climbs: inverclyde, renfrewshire,Ayrshire. No repeats, but can go out and back once over same hill. Must finish same place or lower altitude than start. Should be possible, last 15 mins of our trip was descent. Route on Strava, including local climb of 1.6 km of 9% average. Alan
Committee Alan McLean Posted May 9, 2012 Author Committee Report Share Posted May 9, 2012 PS the challenge is to RIDE the route, not to post fanciful mapmyride routes!
Administrators Jannza Posted May 9, 2012 Administrators Report Share Posted May 9, 2012 I reckon its possible, not sure if i have the lungs or the legs to manage it!
