Phil Malcolm
Off down to do this on Sunday, so will miss Georgetown. Was thinking I could get a placing until I saw the start sheet too!
Administrators Jannza Posted September 6, 2011 Administrators Report Share Posted September 6, 2011 Georgetown is on Saturday and still has places
Phil Malcolm
Just seen that Jan! I would love to ride, but I'm travelling down to Cumbria on the Saturday. I'm getting the feeling somebody doesn't want me to ride on Sunday. Got a cold on monday, crashed yesterday morning, snapped my mech hanger last night, all the trains into Glasgow (to get my train to Cumbria) are cancelled at the weekend! Phil Malcolm
Sat on train back now... Did 20:08 for the 5.3 miles. Winner. Was former national champ James Dobbin in 17:43, I placed 11th out of 54 Really pleased on the one hand as I knocked 42s out of my previous PB... On the other hand, the previous one was good enough for 5th!

Kenny Christie
Fair play to you Phil an excellent result after a ropey start to the weekend. A worthwhile trip. Rounding off a brilliant weekend for JWCC.
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted September 11, 2011 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 11, 2011 Nice one Phil. Am staying on Wrynose (Ambleside). Have got the bike but the lure of the pub is hard to avoid
Committee Alan McLean Posted September 11, 2011 Committee Report Share Posted September 11, 2011 Good stuff phil. Are you competing in the nationals at fairlie moor? Longish course (for here) could suit you.
Phil Malcolm
Hmmm Tempting Alan... could I build on my stunning 92nd place at the 2007 champs (I did beat Michael Hutchison though)? Am I even eligable to ride, being English? Anyway, what date is it and where is it? Will see what the boss says. Thanks for your kind words everyone. I said last night that I'd worked damn hard for this and if I went under 21 mins and got top 10 I'd be made up. I missed 10th by 0.7 seconds, so I'll take that as "near as damn it!" 2023 Subscriptions ginty001 Posted September 12, 2011 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted September 12, 2011 Phil, The course that Alan's talking about is the hill that you, me, Ben and Mark-O done a few months back, went down to Largs via the Brisbane Glen road from Greenock, then about 5 miles beyond Largs on the coast road we took a left went under a railway bridge and on to the climb that took us back over to Dalry... Its being hosted by Ayr Road CC, and you can find a video of one of their guys doing the climb.. http://www.ayrroadscc.com/ Ian...
Iain Cowden
Fair play Phil - a fine effort. 5.3 mile hillclimb - why?!! Sounds distinctly painful. Iain
