  4. Howdo, I hope this is ok, I don't use social media really. I'm running a marathon on Sunday coming and wondered if any of you kind folks might like to sponsor me! All the best, https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/KENNY-CHRISTIE40?utm_medium=email&utm_source=ExactTarget&utm_campaign=20170516_94475
  5. Its a 2012 model, barely used and extensively upgraded. I would hope that's apparent from the photos.I'm only selling it as I have my eye on something else. 6. I've only ever used it with a 10 speed cassette, so cannot confirm 11speed compatibility the narrower profile may well work.
  7. Full carbon tubular Planet X disc, fitted with new Vittoria Evo CX tub. Wheel is shimano fitment in excellent condition, supplied with skewer. £300 [/url]
  8. I had some success with a body paint skin suit a couple of years ago. It cost way too much to perforate with rusty drawing pins so I took my cue from a historic JWCC skinsuit which had tabs of lycra on the tail for number application. I sacrificed some old armwarmers and with a shaky hand I stitched some lycra tabs onto my eyewateringly expensive skinsuit. The tabs were outwith the standard number size to accommodate a stretch when in the tucked position. There's loads of 'give' in lycra. It worked rather well.
  9. Important point, dont queue at the start, just steam right down to the front. We made that mistake before! Do wear mitts, (as someone who never wears them, but suffered the blisters after the Flanders) make sure you're Garmin is reinforced with insulating tape, do bend your bottle cages so they grip extra tight and ensure tyres are inflated to 100 psi max. These are just some pointers, nothing can prepare you for the Bergs. I like to think I could enjoy a pint after most bike rides but after completing the Tour Of Flanders I had something to eat, a pint then went to my bed. #everyone else went out on the lash.... Enjoy!
  10. Howdo, I realise this section of the board is for members only but I had hoped that as a past member I might be permitted to put my bike up for sale. 11. The perfect winter bike. In excellent condition, fitted with full guards and upgraded Ambrosio wheels. From the pics you will see it has been used rarely. Its one of four fixed wheel bikes so space is becoming an issue. £300 postage at cost.
  12. Mark, If you are short of a Marshall I'd be glad to help out to let members ride.
  13. Bit of a clearout at Christie Towers the following are surplus and available for the princely sum of £20 each or £35 if you buy them both. Fit is for 38-40 chest.
  14. Cheers guys. Kenny, I'm after a new Cotic Escapade. Despite sounding like a mid life crisis motorbike purchase it is, in fact, an all rounder type bicycle. Marketed as a ' life bike' I was hooked! You know me, I'm like a magpie, I like shiny things! I'm open to offers on my cross bike BTW. Cheers.
  15. I know there are a few cyclo cross fans in the Johnstonne Wheelers so I thought Id offer my bike here before I try anywhere else. Its a 2011 model barely used and extensively upgraded. I would hope that's apparent from the photos. The items in bold are the upgrades. I'm only selling it as I have my eye on something else. The condition is testament to how often its been used. 16. Nice to see some friendly, familiar faces today All the best.
  17. Giro Selector Black Size M/L 55-61CM for sale. Is in as new condition save for a tiny blemish, a ding that I am at a loss to explain. You can see it in the 2nd pic. Anyway, comes with box, both tails, visor and extra set of pads. The mark is mentioned for clarity. Hence £100
  18. Dennis, I plan on joining you, its a fantastic run on excellent roads. See you Sunday.
  19. Paul, Id be happy to help you out. I would be able to marshal but since I was at the junction at Barmill last year Id prefer that Im posted elsewhere if possible.
  20. Thule 751 foot pack, aero bars the full shebang. I wrapped the bars in black vinyl as I like the stealth look, its easily removed. Keys and locks too! £50
  21. On-One Pompino Size; Large (54cm) Condition; Excellent Perfect for commuting, cyclo cross down the park, or just going for a ride. With geometry that's just agressive enough to be quick without being too over the top. Its the perfect do-it-all bike. I bought this last year and used it only a handful of times.I hope that the pictures convey that. I bought an Alfine chainset for it as I prefer a black chainset. I also bought some Chromoplastic mudguards for it and a set of new XT V brakes. The cantilevers these bikes come with are okay but the brake shudder is shocking. The V's are excellent, in any weather. I also put a new Spoon on it. Pedals not included. I spotted another bike shortly after I bought this which I couldn't resist. I dont have the space for two commuters. Its an affliction! £395 If you need any info or would like more pictures please get in touch. http://www.flickr.com/photos/23602857@N07/sets/72157632793555537/
