Hope you liked the shout from the masses of Jets at Kilmacolm cross tonight. Happy coincidence to have young and old Joansin bunches in the same place at the same time :-)

Times as follows on a sunny, blustery evening:

    Joseph - 19:14 (PB)
    Carol - 20:32
    Dave - 19:47 (PB)
    Ian McG - 17:33
    Alan T - 17:30
    Gerard - 16:44 (PB)
    James - 16:53 (PB)
    Paul L - 17:25

Four PBs, despite the weather conditions rather than because of them. It was definitely not a float night. Good efforts all round, though, folks. You all looked like you were really trying coming over the finish line. Always nice to see!

Everyone paid up; Paul Leavy paid twice, so £24 to be transferred to the club account.

Massive thanks to confined stalwart Ian Holms for haudin' up again and keeping me company.

Finally, good luck to everyone TTing at the weekend.

    Cheers!

Mega thanks to Alan and James for time keeping and holding up on a wet morning.
Very satisfied with my performance today.
    On the podium,
First rider in V60 category ,
Personal best and lying 3rd in a lot of strava segments today .

    Painful though !!

    Week 25
Only three events left and just 3 winners to be determined.
Joseph McIntosh has an unassailable lead at the top of the Chocolate Series, with one run still to do - well done Joe.
The Sub 26 chocolate also looks secure - well done Gerard
The Hilly TT final decider is this Saturday at Langbank and is wide open
The TT league is not yet secure, but could be sealed on Saturday, although I've still got the levelling to do taking only the top 20 results, so it's still in the balance, and we won't find out for sure until after the Sam Dooley.
    How exciting is that?

A deceptive night with the weather, a lot tougher on the return leg than expected. Nice to see a good turnout of Wheelers(and Jet) with a big thank you to Richard and Ian for officiating.

1st time doing the WF 25. I would agree with Alan and Billy that the wind did pick up second lap.  PB, and i was emptied by the end. Hard day.

Funny day felt that the wind picked up a bit and the second time round from Bishopton up to the dead turn felt a fair bit harder , fairly happy with my time as usual could have saved a few seconds if I didn't meet a dick of a lorry driver who still overtook me in the outside lane even though I was in it at the fergusons roundabout , might have only lost 5 seconds in speed but spent another 20 swearing at him

I did both last year James and have to agree with Billy, the short effort on the Saturday helped open the legs for the 25 on the Sunday. Good luck on what ever you decide

Everything Darryl said and more, a great trip! Hard, fun days on the bike and well looked after by each other, loads of full belly laughter(mainly at my quick wit & Jokes). Definitely have made some great memories which I'm sure I will remember after some sleep.

Still laughing out loud at the above quotes Paul, Quality!

First tour away and absolutely loved it, even the windy wet bits which there were loads of!

Highlights for me were ascending the Bealach na ba, crazy winds though which made it very difficult! 3mph and fighting with everything to make the top, descending the other side was probably the dodgiest thing i've done on a bike, the crazy Irishman with deep sections as well, outrageous!

Day 3 from Ullapool to Tongue in the sun is up there with my all-time best rides, Darryl took us off course on a road heading for the Summer Isles but turning right to Lochinver which was outstanding, single track roads stunning scenery and lots of climbing, would highly recommend.

Lowlight for me was only the A9 but thats the NC500 ticked off so I won't be riding that section again. The weather is what it is and adds to the challenge, and a challenge it was!

Lastly, the banter was top notch as Paul mentioned so cheers to the guys for that and Darryl for the whole idea.

    Where next.....

Fantastic trip taking in Scotland's finest roads. We had wind, rain, sun and the occasional midge. It was certainly challenging at times but in equal measure an absolute delight. The group survived intact with no incidents - no punctures, no mechanicals, no offs - which is remarkable given how much riding was done, and when compared to the number of delays on an average club run 😂
We spent more time in close proximity to each other than one might spend with your own family. And, we managed not to kill each other, just😀

I'd like to express my thanks to all the guys talking part. Without the resolve, know how, and good humour of the JWCC, this trip would have been much less enjoyable. Day 3 was especially memorable.

Also, I would encourage anyone who couldn't make this to consider doing the NC500, or parts of it, in future.

There are lots of photos floating around and no doubt others will be on here to add their own memories, but for now, thanks again guys.
