I'm meeting my son John at the Houston roundabout at noon on Sunday for 2 hours. He's wanting 4 hours at 240 watts. Be tempo for me even wheel sucking. Top of zone 2 today with the Renfrew Bunch. Very nice pace. Warm all the way despite the rain. Anyhow if anyone wants a good blast tomorrow probably best to PM me. Don't want to take over this thread.

Enjoyable night! 3 lap sprint pretty much passed me by. Points was in a large breakaway group, managed to win one of the sprints and lap maybe half the field.  This was apparently good enough for 4th, i can only assume someone who scored some points had lost a lap so on negative points because 5 points isnt usually enough these days with double for the final sprint. Scratch, felt pretty good was in a break midway through with Richard McGhee (always a good wheel to get on!) it didnt come to much but the group that caught us were pretty tired from the chase so when it went down to the sprint managed to win. Last was a tempo / course de prime. Waited until late on then got 3 laps then died a thousand deaths on the final one and got caught but the 3 was enough for 2nd.

10am Ferry. Easy riding in preparation for the Glen Finnart segment. 2.3km at 6%. Not taking up a full can of soup this year. Need to find a minute for the KoM. Hmm...

Would like to however will probably give it a miss - couple of 5th places or better would get me my 2nd cat and that would then mean less (and much harder!) road race opportunities for next year.

Paul, Ian A and me in the first group. Through the wonders of age handicapping we also had Jim Cusick as well as the women Lynsey Curran and Jesse who are all regular Renfrew bunch and winter Saturday morning riders. Ian McT, Marc and Robbie were in the later groups.
We quickly had a very well organised bunch of eight or nine which held together until a touch of wheels half way on the return and a rider went down. We lost momentum and within a few minutes were swallowed up by a big bunch including Marc and Ian who must have worked super hard to put over 4 minutes into us.
I just held on over mt Stuart and just sat in for the habble to finish. Kudos to Paul as first v50 but all jwcc did well in big bunch sprint. Robbie punctured.
APR is good format, Very hard racing with no let up, my geek meter says average 232 watts which explains why I am writing this while lying horizontal on sofa.

Will anyone be daft enough to launch a solo attack on the first climb of the course so they can win the segment of the week bragging rights?

We need some of you puncheurs to challenge us on the Hill Race Champs. You Sewing Bee guys were probably going faster up the Bowfield climb last night than us. Definitely more grimacing going on. Us TT'ers are a happy bunch you know.

Nah. I wouldn't call you obtuse Charlie (annoyingly insensitive and slow to understand - that's me). I'll stick with abstruse.

Charlie P says Sewing Bee at Morrisons 6 20pm. Cmon Charlie P; I'm starting to learn all the lingo and the call signs (tell me you do play the saxophone), but it would be nice to newer members to be less abstruse. Not coming anyhow. Working on my ftp on my 100"

Posting on Strava works for me. That's how I heard about the club shop being open. More generally the weekend runs seem so bespoke that casual riders like me are put off. Early starts, funny meeting points, etc.  Renfrew Bunch might be boring but I know where they meet and at what time. Quite fancy a Sunday cycle this week too...

I should really dock Marc and Paul a point for the shameless use of a couple of domestiques from Lomond Roads to chase back the solo break
