C’mon Rob. It was all McT’s fault. He might have 19 BC points this year already but he needs a ski lift to get up the hills. We could have got em Robbie

Too much carbon/lack of mudguards in the middle bunch today, I'd be ashamed of myself!

Top of Lochranza? I put it to you m’lord, the defendant faked it for a breather. It’s 6 months Zwift (hard labour) or DA for the boy.

Thanks for the ride guys. Beautiful day, very relaxing and enjoyed the chat. Glad you filled me in on some new forum nicknames (is Alan Mcb really calling himself Penelope?).
PS Don't telly anyone about the strong tailwind up Fairlie Moor. Reckon that's the fastest time I'll ever get.

Weather looks great. I know Amaretto but not sure about a viaduct. Is it the bridge about 200m towards Paisley on the cycle track? Keen to come. Want a crack at the Fairlie Moor hill - promise not to disrupt the group

Stopping for punctures makes the task too hard. We need a rule: puncturees fall on their sword for the greater good. We should honour them however on a sacrificial failures spreadsheet.
I need to meet Galeb btw. Virtual high 5 for failing so admirably.

No need to carry your own micro climate when you carry a positive outlook
We had some minor drizzle at Port Glasgow but nothing of consequence when you are heads down, bottoms up

Managed to eventually get a late entry in the end for track league tonight.
First race was short scratch. I felt dreadful on the verge of getting dropped from the roll out and had to struggle to get back on over about 5 or 6 laps. Just felt really tired. Was going to go home but figured i paid the late start fee so may as well do another race. This was the longer scratch and felt much better, a few of us tried to make it hard but that didnt succeed, sprint opened up early with a couple off the front with 2 go and was quite far back but managed to make up ground and get 2nd. Next was points, scored in the first and the last, and with the last being double points that was enough for another 2nd. Last was a devil, lots had decided to go home by then so only 6 of us left - full gas from the gun with everyone treating it as 2 lap scratch race because if you avoided the first elimination it would mean TL points. After that i continued on hard and managed to hold on for the win. So a good night overall, dont know what was up with me the first race - warmed up as usual, had eaten etc just felt knackered.
Well done to Kyle, got a few good results in the Bs really starting to make the step up now! And Matti too continuing his fine form in the As.
Now onto Saturday - i think sign on is from 12, racing from 1....i didnt enter the Keirins only doing the endurance events.

Ian Archibald got a reaction from George in Season 18 Confined
Geoff Smith's Georgetown Wednesday events are a game changer. Even before CTT came along , Geoff welcomed all comers, everyone is sociable and inclusive and you can race your mates no matter what club. Even Alan Mcbride stopped coming to our closed events in favour of the Wednesday nights, and I think there is little appetite to make comments on this thread because Geoff is already doing such a good job. You get top riders to kids on road bikes. I love em.
My suggestion is to throw in our lot with Geoff and 3 or 4 times a year put on our own CTT, eg Langbank Hilly TT (I'm even prepared to lose my KoM on the Langbank course :))

I'm keeping a low profile in these claims because the unsaid thing in all of this is they both beat me!

Billy won of course. Mr Montague wasn't trying, Iain McT felt sorry for Billy, and me? I have no excuse. Billy says most people retire from cycling when he beats them. Hmm.

Was dipping into zone 9 at Largs, and Joe Friel, my coaching manual, said no. Legs, heart, lungs, intestines etc agreed.
More generally the Renfrew bunch last Saturday was too hard for me. Be good to join a sub group that stuck at top of zone 2.
I ought to join the JWCC Sunday Audax / Bagel Basket Group. Hmm.

If you enjoyed cycling to Largs you need therapy Galeb. But meantime if you do, the JWCC Bunch are your perfect soulmates. Welcome to the club.
