Not naming any names,  not pointing the finger at anyone in particular and i dont want anyone else to do it either. Everyone has made mistakes from time to time so this applies to everyone including myself.
There was a moment tonight on the rise between Kilmacolm and Bridge of Weir when  Stevie, through no fault of his own, was forced onto the white line as a car approached due to someone switching from the left line to the right without looking.   Not a pleasant couple of seconds seeing this unfold in front and was only a few cms from turning nasty very quickly.
On a couple of other occassions tonight riders were crossing the white line to move up the bunch or maintain their position. If there is good visibility and there are no cars about (and importantly you check there are no cars!) and its clear, then crossing the line briefly then fair enough. No complaints about that and ive done it myself. But doing it going round a bend when you dont know what is coming or even worse doing it when there are  cars coming the other way then forcing your way back into the line so you can avoid them - then not cool at all.
Try and remember it is a training ride not a race  so look out for one another. Actually same applies to races too.

Hi guys, it looks bad but I’m a very lucky boy. Ran out of road, face planted then flipped onto back.
being kept in but will be home tomorrow then getting stitches on Tuesday.
If the bike is ok I’ll be at the Westferry on Wednesday.

Flanders Tour Day 8
A day of sightseeing in Ieper, the famous area of WW1 battlefields, the Flander Fields Museum is well worth a visit & the daily 8pm “The Last Post Ceremony” at Menin Gate is a major event everyday!
Luckily the weather was dry but still quite cold, making my walk exploring the town that much more enjoyable!
Day 9
This was to be my last day in Flanders, time to cross the boarder over to France, into Lille for my final stop & doing the Paris Roubaix again for the 3rd time :-)
My host Edouard kindly plotted me a route base on using the National “Fietsroute” (cycle route), based on junction points with allocated number. You basically follow the point numbers & it’s as easy as that, like joining the dots.
The picture shows the top number which is the designated point, and the bottom 3 points to the direction of the next one ....... easy?!
Crossed the bridge on the photo which boarders the 2 country, no frills, no hassle ....... easy!
France is slightly different to Belgium in my experience, the French roads & landscape is just a bit more busier, things a little bit more closer but I still feels safe to cycle nonetheless!
Lille is one busy place, but weather is good & hopefully tomorrow will continue. Cycled over to Roubaix to collect the number packs & who was standing outside the Velodrome when I came back, non other than the legendary  “Lion of Flanders” Johan Museeuw on his bike! He didn’t look all that chuffed, I don’t blame him, he was surrounded by a clan of Italians taking selfies :-)
I hope this is a good sign for me for tomorrow :-)
I’m now waiting for the other 3 Pave-ers (DavidB, Paul Leavy & McDonald) to arrive from Brussels.

Not a bad shout. We can do the first chocolate event instead and push the hilly into April.
 I’ll check the course on Friday afternoon and post up accordingly.

Once again, it's the start of the Confined Event TT series. This is the first trophy of the season up for grabs to the fastest rider on the day.
2 laps of a hilly route with some challenging turns and a terrific descent. An excellent introduction to time trialling for beginners, as well as a decent warm up for the more experienced.
There will be a short ride down to Castle Semple after the run for tea and scones, those with pointy hats riding at the front
As normal, there will be a £3 entry fee, payable on the day, the proceeds going towards the costs of the awards at the end of the season.

Please note that the start point has been moved to the duck pond where parking is better and traffic is slower. This should make the start a little safer for everyone.
Meet at the start at 09:45 ready for first rider off at 10:00.
I will drive the route on Friday night to ensure that it is clear of snow and ice.
I do not intend to defend my title on this race as I have not yet fully recovered from fatal manflu, so I will be there to hold or timekeep. 1 more volunteer is required for officiating.
I will post the Risk Assessment on Friday.
I will bring some cable ties.
 
and finally, it is Mothers Day, so don't forget to take your mum some flowers after the race.

Paul L and I completed the JWCC awards on Charlie's doorstep. Hamoc duly presented. 

Left pedal sheared off  on Clune either due to my magnificent power or bike neglect. Defo a reliability run as my club mates bar McGinty can be relied on to disappear up the road without a backward glance. Felt like BrendanCole from Strictly.  
 

Winter Solo Single 
Where do I begin.
Last night I was visualising my moment of glory on the Hall of fame.
Arrived on Arran this morning with nothing but positive vibes, winter bike metal frame full muddies rear light but chose to ditch the front to go for the title. Set off on a steady pace and feeling good, weather was meant to be sunny but still foggy.
Half way round, 5 minutes behind the summer pace, first negative thought creeps in but crack on.
36 miles, 2 hours dead, means 20 miles in 45ish minutes, games a bogey but again I'll crack on. 
Got to the top of Lochranza climb with 30 minutes until the ferry leaves, bottle empty and a wee packet of wiggle haribo, I can make it, I've lost my minerals!
Rode as hard as I could, really really  struggling by this point, missed the boat by 5 minutes.
I'm writing this still on Arran, next boat is 2hrs 40 minutes later, ouch!
On the plus side I don't think I'll have a harder training ride this winter, rode in  Z4 for 1hr 2min and Z5 for 1 hr 52min!
Anyone who completes the Winter Solo is a strong man!

I'm not bothered either way, Tuesday or Wednesday. Regardless of what we do, one night will suit some , and not others, Same applies to moving them to a Saturday morning, so we get different participants but not necessarily more. 
We we did have a vote at the agm for the status quo, and there weren't that many TT 'ers there, but that was what was agreed on the night.
I will be putting the calendar together over the next couple of weeks on the basis of a Tuesday night for most events. If there's significant support for moving some to a Wednesday, I'm happy to move them, because the bottom line is, if nobody turns up, I'm wasting my time.

Graham and will be along at 7 for a short while.

Bit frosty this morning for early start. This event has been cancel on the ground of health and safety of the bikes.

Hi everyone thought we could have a social / Christmas night out as not had one for a while. I have booked Amaretto again hopefully that's ok for most people. Table booked for 7. 30 ish and as before informal drinks or food or both. Good to catch up for some good chat an banter. We are also going to post about going to Majorca in mid May so we could discuss that too. Post up if you can make Amaretto
