Hi everyone thought we could have a social / Christmas night out as not had one for a while. I have booked Amaretto again hopefully that's ok for most people. Table booked for 7. 30 ish and as before informal drinks or food or both. Good to catch up for some good chat an banter. We are also going to post about going to Majorca in mid May so we could discuss that too. Post up if you can make Amaretto

Drum up number 4, brilliant as always!

First of all, big thanks to Iain Lochrane, Geoff & Linda Smith for organising this delightful run & inviting everyone to join in, also for the chief fire starters on site too!

Weather forecast wasn't ideal, so I was pleasantly surprise to see a large bunch of yellow & blue at the Loch shore - I counted 13 - Campbell, Colin, David & Carol, Graham & Jane, 4 x Iain McGinty, Carvill, McTarvish, Archiebald, Gerard, Paul McD & myself (sorry if I missed anyone) We seem to make up half the attendees today :-) chapeau Wheelers!

Culinary wise, it was a bit of a disaster for me as my craft sausages end up being firewood   Luckily a few was well stocked & the best was Gerard's FILLET STEAK, which I managed to blag a piece, it was bloody tasty ......... thanks Gerard!
Not to mention the red wine, home baking, truffles, coffees etc. It was better than any cafe that I've been in out on a run!

Don't forget we did a bit of cycling too   Thanks to everyone for the wheels again today & it was much needed as the way out was a horrible head wind .......... 152km for me by the time I limped home, I'm totally spent but with a full stomach, absolutely gallus!

Same again next year please & time to look out for some titanium & carbon BBQ utensils ........ over to you Gerard!

    Cheers

Yes thanks , it's a pity that my brain can't function that early, 4 punctures in two rides two new tyres , but EPS stoped working could be an expensive day

Intermediates replied first so I'm off with them. 30 milers were easily over 40 (miles as well as years) last Sunday so could happily join us.

Just like to add that Calmac never had much choice but to refund the tickets when Boyd the Boss set about them.

A good day out, but not quite what was planned. Four of us pushed hard to get up to Lochranza in time for the ferry, only to find that the ferry had broken down and a replacement was going to take some time to get there (if it ever did), so we decided to carry on round Arran. We stopped at Shiskine Golf Club for a good lunch and some relief from the southerly breeze,  before heading back round to Brodick.

The one good point was that Calmac took our complaint on board - they should not have sold us Five Ferries tickets at Ardrossan because the Lochranza ferry had broken down the previous day - since they refunded the tickets and gave us complimentary tickets to get back to Ardrossan, which paid for a beer at Brodick golf club before we left the island.

Lovely run today, apart from one small problem - my Garmin ran out of battery before I got home so I lost a few miles, but certainly over 60 completed - probably nearer 65.

No damage done from coming off apart from a small bruise on the palm of the hand that Carol did not stand on - which gives me an excuse in case I lose my golf tie tomorrow :twisted leer . The bike's fine too. My theory about helmets making your head hit the road harder has also been proven.

Hope Morna's not too sore tonight after two of us landing on top of her.

5 of us Boyd, Morna, Dave, Newbie Stevie and myself headed for Drymen lovely route going. Unfortunately had wee pile up Poor Morna and Boyd and myself Morna Boyd got this worst of the fall I managed to land on my feet and stand on poor Boyd's hand. Anyway got to cafe for a welcomed cup of tea. The other bunch came in to the cafe so nice to see all the guys. Our wee bunch left then the other bunch caught us up and cycled most of the way home together. 56 miles for Dave and me. Nice weather apart from the wind
