    Salutations!

Alan & Martin of Thomsons Cycles would like to extend an invitation to all Johnstone Wheelers, Johnstone Jets, their friends, family, neighbours & pets to a wee sponsorship launch party at their funky megastore on Causeyside Street, Paisley.

This really is the hottest ticket in town (there aren't really any tickets, just go with me here)

So why not come along for free scran & swally (if billy leaves any) from 4pm on Saturday 19/04/2014?

It'll be a wizard prang & I'll be happy to pose for pictures with the Jim Daly trophy wot I won earlier that day.

Hoping for a big turn out!

    Hi Guys,

Who would have thought that our first month as main sponsor would have passed so quickly.

I just wanted to write and thank you all for making our first month so memorable. Martin and I have been simply blown away by the overwhelming support and the volume of new JWCC faces we have had visit us in the shop over the last few weeks.

It's been amazing and we hope to see you all again and welcome many more of you all over the coming months.

Feedback is important to us and we would very much like to hear your thoughts good or bad on how you found us and how we could improve or indeed what you liked about your visit to the shop or the work we did for you

Looking forward to the working with you all over the season and looking forward to the Jim Daley and follow up JWCC Launch afternoon/evening in the shop on 19th April.

    Cheers guys

Well done Adam and to all who competed and/or helped out today.

I've added a wee article to the JWCC website, but I am still determining the best way to display the pictures within the article. Bear with me.

    under 2 hours left.

Ok update on where we are at.

I am very pleased to advise that all minimums have been met. Up until a few minutes ago we were still short on the ladies' kit. Our very generous sponsor Thomsons Cycles have stepped in to ensure that no one was going to be left without the new Johnstone Wheelers club kit. I think this is extremely commendable act on the part of Allan and he should be duly applauded for this. I'll take this opportunity, if I may, to offer a vote of sincere thanks on behalf of the committee and the club at large. Thank you Allan.

Allan has agreed to hold this additional kit at Thomsons Cycles should anyone wish to purchase it in the coming weeks.

Just to keep everyone in the loop, the whole order will be delivered to me. I will post up details of dates and distribution when I have that information. Currently production time is 5 weeks. I am trying to negotiate a rush delivery with Pactimo, however more on this in due course.

Again thanks to Allan for his generous assistance and to you all for engaging with this new set up. I'd also like to mention the assistance we've had from our long suffering account manager at Pactimo, Raffy. She has had to put up with me making her life miserable over the last month or so and has resolved a few minor panics during the design process and during the ordering process including personally calling one of our members over a payment issue. All successfully resolved.

I'm now off for a stiff drink.

The team store is OPEN. May God bless her and all who purchase from her.

    IMPORTANT INFO

    1. Team store will close at midnight on FRIDAY 14th, so get buying NOW!

    2. You go on to the Pactimo site and INDIVIDUALLY order what you wish. The club are NOT ordering on your behalf.

    3. It is ESSENTIAL that if you indicated you were buying something that you do actually buy it. Otherwise, where minimums were just being met they might not be met as a result and YOUR fellow members will lose out. That is grossly unfair.

PLEASE DO NOT BE THE ONE - I WILL GET INFO FROM PACTIMO AND WILL NAME AND SHAME

    4. If paying by bank card please advise your bank prior to your purchase, otherwise your bank will think your purchase is fraudulant and cancel it. Credit cards are not affected

    How to order

Go to the Pactimo website and select SIGN IN/TEAM STORES.
Input the password - johnstone into the Team Store Sign In password box, this will you to access the store.
Select the items you want - remember to select your size.
    Confirm, Pay and log out.

Any problems, use the number on the site or pm me. Don't post on this thread please.

    Good luck

I bought this last year and it had been absolutely fantastic, to be honest sometimes I get flashed from drivers because of how bright it is. There are three settings, full beam a bit dimmer and flashing.

Just incase it's any use to you as it's a bit cheaper than the Cateye and I think Maplin are selling it for about £65.

    Allan
I bought this turbo a few weeks ago http://www.wiggle.co...yer-vr-trainer/

Its early days but so far so good. It connects to a laptop to give a really full display of distance, speed, cadence, gradient, power and heart rate in both numbers and graphs. It works with an analogue (as oppossed to ANT) heart monitor, around £15 from Decathlon. You can save your routes and workouts, hopefully to show improvements over time!

It comes loaded with various routes and films to follow and a one year multi player license which may or not be useful. So far all I've done is ride against the clock varying the resistance to get used to the machine. Time will tell which features are useful and which are gimmicks.

    Cheers

    Admin gurus.
With so many folk using GPS mapping would it be worth while having a 'route / run ' section on the forum for those looking for new routes to pedal, including mileages and hazards etc. I know i tend to go the routes I know locally instead of going slightly further afield. Might make for some new bunch runs as well.
    Just a thought.
