Don't underestimate yourself Ian (and Iain). It's not that hard. If I can get to Largs (with my dodgy back and hip) then I'm sure you can too.

Charlotte is at a race on Sunday so no club ride for me anyway - perfect timing.  Will probably head out Saturday instead.

Are we planning a club run for Sunday, if so, an early 5pm start in Amaretto has carnage written all over it...

A cold start with Chung from my house this morning, but a clear day with a great ride was ahead.  Took Old Greenock Road along to the bottom of the Clune to meet Carol, Graham and Dave for the ride along  to the ferry.  At the shop to get ferry tickets another bunch of Wheelers rolled up too.  A sizeable group of cyclist boarded the ferry for the run round to Loch Eck.  It is such a nice road round and there is a welcome break at the top of the climb.  Special mention to Ian for popping up and down the climbs just to check how others were doing after a mechanical.  The campfire is the usual scene of fun with food with the bar being provides by Paul, which allowed a toast to Alex Baird in a setting that he would surely approve of.  A nice steady run back at an easy pace to get our ferry.  A unique run in the calendar in fantastic scenery that is worth the extra effort of loading up the bike a bit and all the more amazing when the sun shines all day.

What a great day out... one I hope to repeat! lots of winter bikes, beer, whiskey and laughs! Great cooking by G and being dropped by Mull on the clune made it extra special! What a brilliant run and not a PB in sight.

Got a night out Sat, so don't wait for me, but with the later start there's a possibility I make be able to get my ass out of bed in time,  maybe see youse at the bridge ....

Yip, Amaretto. I would love to introduce y'all to the magnificent roads in the Calpe area. Cycling heaven. And for those that feel inclined, there is always the 6km Col de Rates time trial with the timing hut at bottom and top. TT or not it is one of the best roads in the world.

Iain, it’s the same one we always go to in Kilcreggan, but they’ve actually built this “sitting patio/platform” where one of the parking space use to be, it’s great sitting outside & you’re high up as well looking over the water!

Ginty, the light was in passenger glove box of van. Afraid I was so under weather I forgot to lift it.
A Europcar employee is likely using it on his commute. Handy, as the nights start to draw in.

Trying to get out, get it done and get back before it gets too dark. Lights are probably needed for the return trip anyway.

While having a look on braveheart at previous results in 2016 there was a new tandem record set - 16.55. Doesnt seem to have been broken last year so maybe a record for Graham and Gerard?

Tough wee day in the wind n rain, nice feed in the BB, legs fairly hammered given the short but lumpy miles .. great company as usual
