    Happy New Year
Easy paced 30-40 miles to get the new year started, around some local roads but the reverse of the usual routes.
Leave Clubrooms 9.30am Miller Street, Johnstone.
Cycle track to Bridge of Weir, Torr Road to Gateside, Auchenfoyle Rd to Auchentiber to kilmacolm. West Glen Road to Houston & Bridge of Weir for coffee.
Open to all and if new to cycling, all you need to  turn up with is a spare tube, tyre levers , pump ,money for coffee and your enthusiasm.
    Please post if coming,
    Dave

Myself alan t Martin Mulholland & Young Ruairi departed from Amaretto. Unfortunately Ruari had a mechanical as we started climbing up to Loch Thom so he & Martin had to bail out. I could tell that Martin was very disappointed at missing out on the climb. Alan & myself had a pit stop at Bagel Basket then sauntered up Healy brae and home. Another cracking day on bike

Thanks for the company today guys n girls. Six set off from Miller St, Anthony, Jaki, Tommy, Bill T and Katrina and battled to the Haylie Brae through a strong headwind.
Katrina headed home as the rest made our way into the Bagel Basket for coffees, cakes and scrabbled eggs (eventually Jaki).
Brisbane Glen on the way back, where we left Bill to make his own time. The sun came out and Loch Thom is spectacular in its exposed isolation.

Further to last Sundays coffee stop it has been agreed that we will tackle the three ferries route this Sunday with various options.
    The ferries are;
    Wemyss Bay to Rothesay
    Rhubochach to Colintraive
    Hunters Quay to McInroys Point
Plan is to catch the 10.30am Ferry at Wemyss Bay.
if cycling from Miller Street: leave at 8.30 and arrange to  pick up Bill T. at Western Ferry slip around 9.30am   and  then cycle round to Wemyss Bay.
If catching train then time for 10.30am ferry.
I will be at clubrooms for 8.30am depart to cycle down and if anyone does not want to take the ferry route, they are welcome to come with us as far as Wemyss Bay.
Please post up if coming along.

Thanks to Ian for timekeeping and Alan for arranging the event for last night.
Bit of a headwind on the hilly section, but on checking I set a PB by exactly two minutes and I had a cable tie on in case anyone wonders😄.

Not the intended route home as did not mean to go into Kilwinning, but hey it ended up a nice route on a good day for cycling. Think we had at least 12 at one point and thanks for the company.

Glad. to hear you made it back Alan. Graham, Al, Carol and myself headed back Blair Road then turned up towards the Barmill circuit and back  to Barmill,Hessilhead,Rocky Road and down Bowfield.  It was good to sit outside at the Mill and they even provided a new table umbrella for us. The Wheelers photo is still on the menu and the rolls in bacon and scrambled eggs together with the homebaking make this a must visit for all JWCC members.

Group of ten today including jets and  parents made our way to Dunlop Dairy via Barmill cuircuit road which is in a poor state of potholes and resulted in a puncture.  Picked up Mia and then met Boyd at the Dairy for coffee  and scones and cake.  Home via Lugton and Peesweep hill to Johnstown. Thanks for company and banter and best wishes to the troops heading to Belgium  next weekend.

For anyone new to the club, the next four weeks are reliability runs.... See separate post.
The 30 milers group  with a few others usually  go out as the first group  at 9am, unless you want to go on a later chasing group.
It is a good  chance to get into the Clubrooms and meet the rest of the club over some soup and healthy cake at the end of the run.
