Gerard Deeley got a reaction from robster82 in The Georgetown Cup Time Trial , Renfrew – Saturday, 03 Sep 2016
Are we meeting anywhere specific and at a time, or just make your own way to the start line? Arriving en masse to the tune of Little Green Bag would show intent.

It's a hill and a climb so no going to ride in circles instead

The first of this season's hill climbs, it's not very long but it's painful!
Start at 18:30 this time, so meet a few minutes before.
As usual two helpers to timekeep and hold-up will be appreciated.
The route is as per previous years, but here is a link for anyone who has not done it before: JWCC Hill Climb Route
The nights are closing in, so it may be worth having lights, particularly if planning to cycle home.

A big thank you to everyone there tonight for being so welcoming, Beth was saying how much she enjoyed her first night. There was also talk of how she could go faster next time. Thank you to Graham and Karen for timekeeping and pushing off. I have also started to notice a bit of a correlation between the quantity of drool I produce and my P.B.s, it is frankly rather disgusting and does concern me for the future.

Well done to all riders, it's good to see some different faces this week - as well as the regulars, and thanks to Karen and Kenny for helping out.
10 riders paid, £30 for club funds plus my £3 from the 2-up on Sun. 21/8, so £33 will be transferred to the club bank account. Billy has £3 due as he had lost his money!
Next week it's the first of the hill climbs at Howwood, building up to the club hill climb championship on 1st Oct.

Gerard, you can try & stretch a swimming cap over your helmet!
That should do the trick :-)

Hi All,
Despite many obstacles put in front of me in organising this race, it finally got going today & luckily everything went just the way we wanted it - even the weather :-)
A lot of people I would like to thank on behalf of the club, for todays race, without them all, the race could not happen:
The Sign-on / Catering team
Sandra / Mary / Jane
The Marshals
Wheelers:
Alan McBride (who I can see was itching to ride) :-/
Andrew Dunn
Bill Thomson
Chris Austin (Wiggowanabe)
David Cathcart
Eric
Greg Balden
KarenG
Morna
Paisley Velo:
Graeme Barr
John Downes
Glasgow Couriers:
Ritchie Proven
John
Mother & Grandmother of rider Danny Hedley
Rachel
Grandma
First Aider
Paul Leavy
Service
Willy Cosh (Q Bikes)
Convoy Drivers
Iain McGinty
Iain McTarvis
Iain Cowden
Paul McMillan
Alan Thomson
Stevie McFarlane (Paisley Velo)
Thanks to everyone's effort, today event went very smoothly apart from the crash in the final lap which brought a few riders down. Unfortunetly, a rider from Glasgow Green CC - David Anderson had to be taken to hospital for a suspected dislocated shoulder or broken collarbone, so hope he recovers soon!
It was a massive gallop to the finish with a big bunch sprint after 6 laps, very close indeed & the honours went to:
1st Overall - Zak Loney
2nd - Gavin Shirley
3rd - Andrew Hale (who was leading with literally 10 meters to go )
1st Juniors - Stuart Paterson
2nd - Euen Sutherland
3rd - Danny Hedley
A very good placing for our friend from the Couriers - Gregg O'Malley in 6th overall.
Interestingly, a 4th Cat placed 17th, but he was well in the main lead bunch along with the usual Cat 2's.
It's encouraging to see we had help from a number of the local clubs members who stepped in to help, because without them, it would have been difficult to put the race on. I cannot stress that enough!
In future, we should do the same & repay these favours if the situation arises!
Also, big thanks to Willy & Stevie of Q Bikes for supporting the race with goody bags & car. Much appreciated!
I hope I haven't left any body out & thank you all again!
Cheers
Chung

Gerard Deeley reacted to GrahamF in Sat 27th Aug 10:00 - Langbank Hilly TT #3 Langbank, 10 miles
We had two scheduled Langbank Hillys back in March, but one was cancelled due to weather, the results from the other one were:
1. Alan M 25:38
2. Iain C 26:32
3. Alan T 27:51
4. Iain M 27:56
5. Gerard 30:08
6. Mike 33:46
That's 20, 15 and 10 points respectively for Alan M., Iain C., and Alan T. So tomorrow could decide whose name will go on this trophy:

Just pop these flyers through some letterboxes in Kilmaurs, hope it draws some crowd out on the morning like le Tour :-)
Well, it's actually more to tell them what all the fuss is about outside their front door!
Hats off to our trusty posties, as just doing that on just half of the street tired me out, especially when it started to rain too I wouldn't even last one day as a postman :-/ Respect John!
Cheers
