George reacted to Alan McLean in Strava
Oh boy. Definitely worth cracking a beer open for this one. We get Strava premium free in Kilmacolm, it comes with the Farrow and Ball paint catalogue.
or you can pay about two coffees per month to totally nerd out on segments. Join us down the rabbit hole. You know you want to. Take the red pill and see how the world really is...

George reacted to thejanullrichdietplan in Thursday 21 May 7pm Renfrew Bunch zwift
I tried this last week and it was decent.
No sticky draft however it's treated as a group ride with sprints every lap (takes about 7 or 8 minutes a lap)
Pretty flat circuit and last week i averaged 225watts (lighter riders will do it on less)
Follow Renfrew Bunch on zwift for an invite

Geo,
my tv in my garage is only 22/24 inch or something but it was under £100. Saved money there and splashed out on a 4K Apple TV box. Connects via HDMI to the tv and everything is better compared to when I used my phone with the lightening connector.

I was blowing big time. 10 mins at 320+ watts to catch you. Needed a wee rest and inevitable we’d be caught once Jan put his foot down....

So here is the next one - a bit trickier perhaps but I reckon a good few will know it, as for Alan and his cryptic 395573 number - is this an OS map reference or the cost of his Zwift set up ?

George reacted to thejanullrichdietplan in Thursday 14 May 6pm - Zwift ride - sticky draft OFF
50 minute group ride starting at 6pm, no sticky draft. Not a race but a bit more than a group ride - go for a time up the KOM and sprint then regroup a bit. There will likely be splits in the bunch. Back to normal format on Friday
Remember to follow Johnstone Wheelers on the companion app if you want an invite
Before the event is due to start make sure you have opened up the game and can see your avatar and bike - you can ride about on any course or just sit waiting. When it is 5 minutes to the start of the meetup a dialogue box will appear on the bottom left of the screen - select that and it will take you to the start of the group ride.

I suggest additional Thursday ride. Means folks can still get their steady rides in.

Was going to ask if the sticky was indeed off. Hard chase to catch on during first lap before the ramps - a few matches burnt. Half expected G to come through and drive on the increase the gap on the 2nd. Felt a bit more like racing.

George reacted to thejanullrichdietplan in Wednesday 13th May 6pm Zwift ride
Yeah it was tougher than i was expecting - took a good 10 minutes to catch you and Mark once you had the gap!
I'm not sure why it was off i didn't change anything but it did feel a little more fluid in the climb and sprint sections.
I could make the Wednesday ride sticky draft off. Or have an additional ride on a Thursday which would normally be the chaingang night

Hdmi/lightning cable as little as a tenner on Amazon so worth a punt.

Do you know which connections are on your phone and back of TV? If your kit is new enough to have lightning on iPhone and hdmi on TV then a lightning/hdmi cable would be cheapest option although the Apple ones can still be £50.
Streaming device would be more expensive but more versatile but again may only be able to plug into hdmi.

George reacted to Rachid in Specialized Tarmac SL4 Pro 58cm £500ono
Hi all,
I joined the club a good while ago and met some of you on a few group rides. I've now moved to Johnstone so will hopefully be out with you all when the situation gets better (the one outside and also at home - just had a baby ).
I am wondering if anyone would be interested in this frameset I have for sale.
It's a 2014 Tarmac SL4 Pro (10R Carbon, just below S-works, higher spec than the elite/comp/sport etc). I purchased it from a gent who paid £4k for it with DA9000. I have the original receipt if you would like that too. The previous owner hardly used it, I used it for one summer for around 2.5k km so it's in great condition, small chip to the paint at the rear dropout, but nothing else to report back. It will come with the carbon seat post, headset/bottom bracket and the Fact carbon chainset 175mm 52/36 (570g).
You can find the geometry and spec here - https://www.specialized.com/gb/en/tarmac-sl4-pro/p/49621.
I would like £500ono for everything listed above.
Drop us a message if you would like some photos or would like to come and see it (in a safe distanced manner) in Johnstone.
Thanks.

George reacted to thejanullrichdietplan in Wednesday 6th May 6pm Zwift ride - sticky draft ON
50 minute group ride starting at 6pm sticky draft on so no-one will be dropped for this.

Meetups have a new feature that means non meetup riders are hidden so that should help things.

Discord was working fine. Ride was good until the game stopped on my laptop. Continued a bit using the App, but in the end had to reboot and ride elsewhere.
cheers

I lay off the fags a good hour before kick off. Quick rum & coke to flush the system then lay down the power!

Was odd tonight. Seemed to be a bit slow so I just sat at my own power. Got jumped at the finish-proves Zwift is lifelike. 😂

Sounds like a good challenge!
At the weekend there are usually some long group rides - would be a good way to tick off some miles. ZHR Audax on a Saturday morning, that has several groups and KISS has a couple too.

Unfortunately not - couple of weeks ago i googled how to do this and all i found was people requesting the option to hide the non group ride chat
