It been a relatively lean year for additions to the Hall of Fame for SA / SS / 56+50 / DA. Long range weather looking warm, dry and settled for next SaturDAy.
If weather ok, anyone interested in a late season assault ? Could be for any of the 4 official challenges. Still only 2 of the DA yellow shirts have ever been issued

No..bikes in storage and I'm not fit enough, also training for the Glasgow half marathon so will have my big run ðŸƒâ€â™‚ï¸ at the weekend but typically have a groin and Achilles strain from this weekend's run 😭🤤 ....hopefully I'll be down to cheer you lot on. Last year Ross Tool and his boy with the cattle bell was a welcome sight 🔔

I did both last year James and have to agree with Billy, the short effort on the Saturday helped open the legs for the 25 on the Sunday. Good luck on what ever you decide

Not fit enough for it, away to newcastle the weekend before for 3 days of madness and now don't have a working bike. But if I get bike back and good crowd going I'll give it a go.

I reckon Alan Mcb pushing off saved me 20 seconds. He might be rubbish pushing a pedal but he can't half push a saddle. Thanks Alan.

A bright, warm evening with a tailwind on the out leg saw 7 intrepid riders heading off.
    Times as follows:
    Joseph Mackintosh (jet) 20:14
    Scott Mackintosh 17:34 (PB) paid
    James Snodgrass 17:26 paid
    Gerrard Deeley 17:20 paid
    Paul Leavy 17:16
    Iain Couttie 17:12
    Ian Archibald 15:52

Well done to Scott on the PB.
I'll sort out the results spreadsheet and post it up tomorrow night.
£15 transferred to the club account.

Good to see Alan 'fat boy' McBride out again, even if only doing the pushing off bit.

Hey guys, how are we all doing?

I'm loving the forward planning here gents; just about enough time for me to lose 10 kilos (or gain them). Definitely getting the bug back again and would love a Paris Roubaix (apologies Billy but you're thread naming leaves a lot to be desired) MSR double to keep the focus. Still haven't beaten Charlie in a sportive so looking to set the record straight even if all these medical interventions have turned him into a fully fledged terminator by then. I've even hot-wired my garmin to prevent autopause kicking in...

Lets get these beautiful, FLAT  (minus the Cipressa and Poggio) monuments under the belt and why not soak up some of the ambience and/or beer while we're at it! Loved LBL when we had a massive squad over and was gutted to miss out on La Sufrida (but not the suffering, heat or mountains). Not on here very often but if you get something sorted let me know, i might even dust off the turbo...

No you're right to taunt him Alan. It's not right that he gets off and pushes his bike up the Clune saving his legs for the sprints while we all freeze at the top

Have to agree with Greg. Cycling and jwcc should be for all, not just for the middle aged and middle class. It's bad that cycling has become the new golf, no need for jwcc to become one of those elitist type clubs. There's something romantic about the blood sweat and tears of nailing yourself on the bike, whether it be on mid week training runs, long hard Hilly club runs, challenging sportives or racing. It would be amazing to also do this abroad, pricing out fellow club m8s to amble around the country side to then retire to a king size duck feather duvet just seems wrong ... treat the wife/boyfriend whomever if that's your bag... hard days cycling, enjoy the beer, somewhere to rest the head, simple.

Wow wow wow hod the bus..I've just realised you only get 3 points for topping the Clune and 6 for hanging on and jumping the line on the GT. is this right? Surly not...

Great night by the way...through and off and a tough pace with considerate clean riding.. showing up the Renfrew bunch and not just with the pace

Clean riding at the front. In the cheap seats I was taking any wheel I could find.
