Some of the local climbs have been totally bossed by Quick Step etc on Strava. I am looking at The Full Carruthmuir aka. Phil's Folly and I've seen others.
can I suggest that during the winter gales (we'll need storm force tailwinds ) we make club efforts to get one of these back.
I would like to imagine Wout van Aert or GVA receiving the "Uh oh, Galeb/Paul/Ian has just taken your KOM etc..." message. (I would also like to think they might just pop back to regain their Kom). Perhaps they weren't really trying but I think they were.
I will volunteer to lead out for, oooh, first 20 seconds.
Anyone got a list of likely segments?

Just a heads up incase you are waiting at Rhubodach for the TT - The route has been moved due to temporary traffic lights - it now starts in Rothesay and goes along the road that cuts through the middle of the island

Normally held st the start of the season as a warm up for the season about to start, poor weather meant it was cancelled in March. A space has now become available on 22nd September to run this event, but only if there is any interest.
It's 2 Laps of a 5.3 mile circuit, with some hills, twisty descents and shiny new tarmac on long sections of it.
Post up if you're interested in riding this event. I'll post start times if there's a take up.

Very well, in the interests of not getting wet and cold tonight, tonight's event will not take place. There will be no social run to the sponsors. Do not pass Go, do not collect £200.

Graham will be the captain and I am the stoker on Charlotte the tandem.  Thinking we should call ourselves team Staying Upright For Few Extreme Runs (S.U.F.F.E.R.).

Just clocked a 64:28, which is 45 seconds faster than my PB for this course. Well chuffed with that considering my lack of training and fitness level, not to mention last night’s pepperoni and jalapeño pizza which was making its presence felt before the start.
The course is what it is, a relatively good first and last quarter and a brutal middle half. Conditions were excellent, hardly any wind and warm without being hot.

Was round seeing Anne, she is bearing up amazing well. The funeral is likely to be Friday morning 10:30 at clydebank crematorium (possibly Tuesday but doubtful) she will confirm exact details (times/ location) once they have confirmed on Monday then onto Amaretto (availability dependant) afterwords, she was wondering about numbers so if you could maybe give me an indication how many are likely to attend as she wasn't sure if amaretto would be big enough and I can feed back. She was saying how she likes to see the pictures of Alex that she hadn't seen before etc. I had printed of the messages and photographs from the posts as thought it would be good for her to read the stories and see the photographs to see how much he was loved within the group.
I was thinking it would be nice to put together some sort of photo book to give her and I am happy to organise if everyone ok with that. If anyone would like to email me a photograph/s and a caption about the photograph/ photographs? my email is "[email protected]" - Let me know your thoughts on this if you think is a good idea?
